Weistec's site specifically says, "Not legal in the USA", however, Florida doesn't do smog testing so you can get away with it. doesn't mean its legal.

When I bought it was legal, EPA's strict rules where not in place, yet. Now they chase you for having an oil filter because you can make it into a gun silencer.

If wanting to do a GDI cleaning with CRC GDI cleaner which you NEED to avoid all contact with the MAF sensor could you spray it in via the PCV hose on the air deflector after the MAF and before the throttle body?
there are no practical chemicals that will dissolve and wash away baked on carbon.
From what I've read, the best way to clean the intake is walnut shell blasting. this requires removing the intake manifold, and rotating the engine as you do each cylinder's ports so they are fully closed, asnd vacuuming out that port before turning the engine for another.

We have testing in six of our 88 counties, I know many states are like this, there are actually 49 other states besides California.
Figured might as well since I already had to take the manifold off to check the knock sensors due to a code that popped up then went away.
M273 engine at 12 years old = ounce of prevention
Replacing a bunch of other parts (fuel filter, injectors, pulleys, thermostat, spark plugs, coolant, transmission fluid, motor mounts, tranny mounts etc.) due to age / service life schedule.
This DIY stuff is a great hobby, with a wonderful community of knowledgeable and generous folks (like S-Prihadi and G-AMG).
No politics, no gender, no culture...just cars.
As far as the E-class, W212 look still does it for me...plan on keeping this car as long as I can - even though deep down I kinda want the W210 AMG
I like the pre-facelift W124 better. I don't have a good square on front picture, but this was my ride for years.... i got it with 200k, drove it til it had about 260k, was still running strong, but needed a lot at the end (new top, paint, tires, brakes, struts, the trans was approaching rebuild time, and rodents chewed a pile of wiring while it was parked for the winter, and it needed new leather seat covers especially in the rear which are unobtanium) and it just wasn't worth fixing up again, $8000+ in repairs for an $8000 car? not smart. I did love that M104 3.2L straight 6, it was so smooooth.
