Hesitate upon acceleration
My 2016 Mercedes E350 4matic hesitates upon acceleration and when in 5th gear. What could be the cause? Can anyone help or have had or have this issue.

car acting up.... gently
Many things can impact driveability: faulty pumps, misfires, low voltage... a specific TSB may be available for hesitations.
Get your car scanned for obvious faults codes before anything.
Tell us about current mileage and service history....

Hesitation during acceleration from lean mixtures or tranny...

It currently has about 70000 miles, currently been scanned no faults. No major services

You're left with troubleshooting from data or the wet finger parts canon
#1: unregulated fuel pressure ?
#2: negative fuel trims ?
#3: ignition misfire ?

Hesitate under mild acceleration, or hard acceleration (like racing off the light)?
If it only happens about the 5th gear, and not other gears, @CaliBenzDriver what do you think about disconnecting both batteries? Count to ... 1 min? Then, reconnect.

Scanned by? Autozone/PepBoys/AdvanceAuto, or MB-aware scanner? Sometimes there are no "visible faults" unless you get down to the modules and check for stored codes.

only under mild acceleration, takes off fine under hard acceleration.
I will try disconnecting both batteries

Be sure to do like 10 or 15min, in my experience 1min isnt long enough.
Not sure on your car but do u have sport/eco mode for the trans, does it do it in either or just eco?

blind without data
The car Reboot step is an excellent start for any odd symptoms. Once done you can assume SAM's are back on their best behavior.

The part that throw me a for loop is only happening in 5th gear. That eliminates a lot of possibilities like fuel pump or engine mounts and points to the gearbox itself. Maybe the gears or the torque converter is starting to fail?
