how to change the digital speedo to mph

So I am new to E class ownership but the car has a digital speedo number showing km/h and i would like it to show mph.
In the settings there is a setting to change the 'display unit speed-/odometer to miles or km but this has no effect on the speedo display and i can't see any other option to change from metric to imperial.
Anyone know what I am doing wrong (see photo)

I assume after you highlighted "Miles" you hit the OK button?

yes - the display stays saying kmh regardless of what I select
I have just read that it may be intentional and can only be changed by a dealer?

The digital display that changes units is not the one that the speedometer needle points to. It is the one that you must scroll through the menu to get to, in the same screen as the mileage/trip odometer/miles remaining.

sorry for seeming stupid but can you explain a little more what you mean and where to go - in the settings?

So you can see the round needle speedometer doesn't change - only the digital one.
This is on my ML, but the E is similar.

The display goes dark at one point not by any fault of the display but because the display frequency vs the camera scanning frequency.

thanks - mine is a little different to that - the digital one only ever reads kmh even when I change the setting in the instrument section of the settings to miles like in the photo I posted
I have searched all other setting options and can find no other setting to change for miles/km

Scroll the menu to Settings, then instrument cluster, then choose miles or Kilometers, mine works like that, it's a pre-facelift

Funny thing is that I also scrolled the menu using the buttons on the steering wheel to see what's what prior to reading this topic
Well, you may also change the ambient lights and also adjust the intensity just in case you would ask those

thanks - as i have said I have been through all settings in the menu and the only one that mentions changing miles to km is the one in the photo I posted and changing that does not effect the digital speedo display - it always reads kmh

What does it read in when you select KM in the menu? you already followed the procedure I posted?
