2014 E400 Twin Turbo, looking to buy a 2nd hand one, any issues I should be wary of?

I'm kinda looking to maybe buy a low Km/Mile 2014 E400 Twin Turbo, looking to buy a 2nd hand one, any issues I should be wary of?
I have a 2014 E350 now but don't know much about the twin turbo models, are there things I should be wary off or pay particular attention too?
Cheers!
I have the 2015 E400 Base Sedan which means not AWD nor Hybrid whcih they did have back then.
2016 had Apple car play as option
Engine = Smiles due to good delivery of HP
28mpg highway is easy @ 80mph.
could get more or less depending speed, terrain & Weather conditions
I would look for 2015 or 2016 as I think pretty much all issues for the w212 are worked out...
As 2017 jumped into 213

Though I love the smiles a turbo engine provides, I am a bit hesitant about their long-term durability and maintenance cost. Too much plastic under the hood, and a lot more heat with the turbo. Otherwise, the engine is still a M276, and have similar issues plus the unique turbo-specific ones.

I've had a JB4 on mine since I bought it at 27.5K. Now at 55K with no issues and the JB4 turned up to Map 5 for the last 2 years. I've owned mine almost 4 years.

I think Oz and Indonesia get true E400 by 2014 and USA only in 2015.
True = M276.820 3.0 TT , no hybrid nothing. So when looking to reference a USA model for parts, use 2015.
Mine is still low mileage at 37,000KM at best, but I pushed my engine hard at the track(fun-drive) and daily driving I WOT the engine often.
Cooling system wise this car is lacking for tropical climate and when driven for only 2 laps or 8KM at the track where 2-3-4 gear is the dominant WOT, I hit 120C already.
I know some area in Oz is very hot, so when you decided to pull some sort of trailer I would advice you to get an OBD2 gauge to read true coolant temperature from ECM and
not the cheater version the Instrument Cluster coolant gauge is showing.
Using the OBD2 gauge you can see 104 - 110C often when engine medium loaded but velocity under 120KM/H.
Full cooling fan speed is not enough , it need wind velocity cooling.
The cooling temperature algo management is also agressive at times , ECM loves to push engine coolant to above 100C.
Add some roads with gradient up, 110C coolant temp as seen on OBD2 is common.
Below are events I manage to capture where coolant temp rises up to 104 -110C while being driven so calm, but road is uphill.
Last portion of the video shows a mountain climb with ambient temp so low at 21C and yet I still see 110C at 05:36 minutes.
So far the engine is reliable, other non engine matters, it is basically the same as with any W212 facelift.
One would appreciate the abundant higher torque this M276 3.0 TT has over the M276 3.5 NA at very low RPM.
When accessing MB WIS documents, do be careful and do not feel bad when you get confused

There are times our engine can be referred to as M276 family, but sometime you need to look hard for M276.8 or M002 or those codes showing this is
the 3.0 TT version of M276.
Also being a RHD version Oz and Indonesia get, again you will get pissed when looking at wiring diagram because all are based on LHD cars and it will confuse you
when finding certain ground post/stud.
Dampers. Most likely they are SACHS on yours. Mine are SACHS. Replace them with the low cost but good Bilstein B4.
The handling will improve, more so for the Moose Manuver .
Since your car will be pre-owned, best to do proper tranny fluid change all the way to draining the torque converter, this is the PROPER method.
I hope previous owner has done at least once PROPER tranny fluid change.
There was once someone posted 250,000KM for his E400, he has a misfire. Too bad the thread was never completed to know what actualy happen.
250,000KM is a lot and my car would not ever reach that mileage even at 30 years old LOL.

I think overall E400 is good enough in terms of engine reliability.
As for turbo coolant lines breaking apart, its plastic part which M278 is famous for, our M276 3.0 TT is bit different and it seems less fragile but ours has lower cooling
value because the source of coolant has already pass thru engine block and not as direct as M278, where the turbo coolant source is at water pump output.
NOTE : Our engine but a higher power 367HP called M276.850 is also found on S class W222 S400/S450 and W205 C43 and C450 up to 2020 I believe.
Some engine parts are different on M276.850 compared to our M276.820
The turbo is different, that I know by P/N. Max torque (500 Nm) also shifted to 1,800 RPM where our engine max torque 480Nm is already available at approx 1,400 RPM.
Happy shopping.......
