w212 replaced parking brake shoes rubbing.
Now the disk seems to still be rubbing slightly but the temp is still higher than the other side.
Has anyone had this happen before ? Will it settle down over time as the new pads wear, its a very light rubbing for less than a quarter of a turn of the rear wheel.
I've checked the fitment of the new shoes again and cannot see any difference to the otherside.
My only thought now is to maybe swap the disks over to see if they rub against the other disk or if the problem moves to the other side.
Thanks

Can you take pictures showing those calipers in question? floating/fixed...
Also how did you lubricate those brakes ? What lube?
A little rubbing when new is normal until all surfaces mate to each other ... 150 miles.

I've attached some pictures of the side that's rubbing
I have checked for any play in the wheel bearing too, and that seems fine, no difference to the other side.

Also one can not expect drum based parking brake to work IMMEDIATE GRIP like a disc brake, it does not work that way. It needs like 1/2 tire revolution to produce the SERVO EFFECT.

I wonder if they were also experiencing higher temp on the disk/hub as a result once going for a drive.
It's a pretty bad design in my opinion, the idea of removing the assembly entirely sounds good to me, however here in the UK the parking brake is needed for the MOT test.
I will continue to run the car with it slightly rubbing, in a hope that it wears down to such a degree that it goes away. If not then I will have to adjust it to zero on the screw and live without the brake until MOT time, at which point I can adjust it back in to pass.
