How many 2012-13 E550 Cabriolets were produced? Seems like they were scarce. Does anyone know the production numbers or where to find them online? Thank you.

I just bought a 2012 e550 cabriolet with all options. It seems like they are hard to find online and aftermarket parts are scarce. I think they didn’t produce many but I can’t find the numbers. It looks like only two years with the twin turbo V-8. I wondered if I should keep the miles off and not drive it so much because it is in great shape. Someone was telling me when they came out they were are hard to come by and only produced the E550 convertible for North America and Japan. I can’t verify that though

550's with the V8's are already hard to come by and it's even harder in a vert. Been contemplating getting one but I just can't get past the soft top.

I thought a 550 was either a NA V8 or a twin turbo V6 ?

2012 and 2013 E550 was a twin turbo 4.7. I can’t find hardly any for sale especially in the cabriolet option. I’d like to know production numbers. I can’t find them anywhere. I’m pretty sure they were extremely low.

The same chassis was produced all the way until 2017. If you are looking for cosmetic parts anything from 2010 until 2013 will apply. Performance wise almost anything for an M157/M278 will work. Your car (at least in the US), has more in common mechanically with a 2012-2013 E550 coupe. The only parts that are harder to find, are the convertible top, the buttons, and the mechanism.

California/Florida would the prime place to find replacements.

2009-2011 are 5.5 V8 NA (M273) and 2012+ are 4.7 V8 TT (M278).

The E400 had 3.0 V6 TT (M276), but not sure if these were ever sold in the US.

The 3.0 V6TT (M276) engines were sold in NA under two different designations: 400 (C400, E400, ML400 for examples), or 450 (C450, E450, GLE450). The 450 designation (I believe) is AMG-enhanced though.

It depended on the year. After 2019, it went to an E450, it was an E400 before that. Wasn't anything AMG related, basically a minor bump in HP from 329 to 362 so they decided to call it a 450 instead of 400. The AMG lines are more like E43/E53, same thing though, a bump in hp took you to the higher number.

There always seems to be more cabriolet e550s available than the sedan. Today there are 3 convertibles for sale and a coupe. No sedans under $30k. When checking Autotrader.

I'm not a huge fan of cabriolet anything, you'll find the same ratio with the 911 market. You get the person with the pipe dream of top-down driving in the sun, and then the reality sets in and well, you get a good deal for the next guy.

It depends upon where you live, I guess. I had a w-124 cabriolet the 300CE. Love the living daylights out of that and hardly ever had the top up except late at night or in the rain. Top down drives around the beach front were a regular occurrence. But yes, I live in a beach town on the west coast, Santa Cruz, California

man, I couldn’t give you any specific production numbers, but I can tell you that since I got my E550 coupe, I have hardly seen any E550’s of both the sedan, coupe, or cabrio.

My new to me 2011 E550 Cabriolet(5.5L NA V8). To the best of my knowledge only about 6.3k cabriolets were made worldwide, with only a few hundred for the U.S.
