mirror maintenance

I might be able to help as i was in there a while back. I recall miror being "user friendly"...

Show us pics as you go or more pics if you need pointers.

The mirror Mgt is done by the solderless Door Control Module on CAN-B... tiny enclosure easy to get towards the front side of both front doors. Is responsible for the dim triangle inside mirrors and slow windows winding.

Mirror disassembly & more...

coming along...

plastic snaps

I see you have all screws removed, good 👍
now, gently loosen all snaps as indicated

As eluded to earlier what makes mirrors crazy is the solderless DCM controller. You can replace, recode or resolder...

THEME: many mechanical assemblies use light grease that evaporates. This results in unlubricated gearings ... rough movements stress the solderless connections until failure glitches the module crazy.
The failure stay local if the controller is not on CAN-BUS. Else if it is a node, then chaos is materialized as a delayed CAN traffic ("X-Mas airport traffic jam" @S-Prihadi )

Applicable to ...:
  1. Sunroof/ Pano,
  2. Trunk/gate closer,
  3. Side 4x windows,
  4. Side 2x mirrors,
  5. Shade back window,
  6. HVAC 6x Actuators,
  7. ....

Except the front seat controllers that are built more reliably to ensure they can travel high-speed during crash - ask me how i know: seat saved me once in a rear end hit and run.

plastics or electronics

these snaps are latches. Thing is they are all latching so one gets you nowhere with the one on the left + the right, all around.

Don't worry anout braking things up, you are being careful already beyond that epoxy is here to help.

If you don't feel like dealing with the plastics then go right ahead and fix the control electronics because that's where the main problem lays. Door Modules controls power to these mirrors directly.
🤞

Thank you for your replies , I opted and didn’t proceed to remove the latches but instead reached in a small opening and put in silicon grease and so far it worked perfectly the binding when the mirror changes position when I put it in reverse is gone
