The glove box latch on my E350 came out. Apparently, the two plastic hinges on the latch broke, while the related pin on the glove box is still intact.

I see that I can buy a latch replacement.

Am I able to remove the pin in the glove box, so that I can install the new latch? I've seen other posts that suggest the entire glove box needs to be replaced. However, this seems odd.

If I am able to remove the pin, does anyone know how to position the following piece, which I'm assuming is a spring for the latch?

FWIW I did see this post. However, it seems pretty kludgy.

Sorry no one has helped, mine have not broken so I don't know, I will go out and take a picture of my latch pulled to release, maybe that will show something.

I just replaced the latch on my GF's 14 GL350. It's not really meant to be replaced so I did a write up of how I did it. It's a little different, but I think you could do something similar with yours if you haven't figured it out yet.
