Where is the Sunroof water drain hole location? E220 w212
Hello.
I have a Mercedes e220 w212 2015.
Water has started to come in from the upper right side. I have a sunroof. It is highly likely that there is a blockage in the drain from above. Does anyone know where exactly the hole is located and where the water is led out on the other side. I've tried looking but can't find that place. I bought a wire brush. I have previously cleaned a Skoda Superb with the same problem. But on Mercedes I can't find the place as it is in a different location. anyone have video showing it or pictures?

every car I've seen, the sunroof is mounted in a 'pan' or tray, and there's a drain hose in each corner of this pan, the front ones go down the A pillars, and the rear ones go down the C pillars.
here's a W212,

the drawing shows the end of the drain lines is horizontal pointing forward, so I'd guess they come through the firewall into the engine bay.

Rain leak: S-M-L ....
The rear sunroof drain outlets are visible behind the trunk liners...
Besides the common leaks are from :
- Roof seams glue
- Loose windshields glue
Given enough time the modern polyurethane glues denaturates into useless chewing gum.
What you really don't want is a driver side leak into your Front-SAM tub

you said your leak is in the front left ? so park with the front right slightly low, open the sunroof, and dribble water onto the tray under the wind flap and see where its coming out.. then look in the same place on the left side....
ok, i just looked on my E350, its really crowded in there, and with the false firewall and stuff, I'm kinda guessing the drain is behind the wheel well liner, aft of the front wheels...

I wonder, how often do u guys clean the water drain system of your sunroof/pano ?
Mine being a pano, it has no drain hoses found on sunroof cars, it is only 4 short holes. Below is how a pano-roof water tray, drain any water and without any hoses.
Everytime I wash my car, I would dry the pano roof tray with cloth and compressed air at the wind deflector cloth mesh/net, at the same time I blast air into the water drain holes.
The rear water drain holes I can not blast as good and easy as the front ones even using blow gun with 30cm flexy nozzle...but I can always see the water escaping as per red arrows on the image above. So it is good enough.
In non rainy season, the longest I can do without a car wash is approx 2 weeks only, due to ambient dust so high, my car will be dirty from ambient dust
even without being used, if I do not use a car cover.
So basically, in 1 year, I will clean my pano water drain hole using compressed air, minimum 24 times a year.
Since I clean them water drain holes so often, the hardened dust turning into calcium-built-up-like hardness is very little and I do not have the long and tiny water hose
used as drain feature a sunroof type car would have. Basically a pano is a bit more forgiving in terms of water drain blockage.
I advice owners to spend time at least once a month to clean the pano/sunroof water drain holes + hoses and also the water catch tray of windshield wiper water tray system,
which uses tube like plastic shaped down facing snorkle to dump water at front fenders. Clogged windshield wiper water tray system can cause rain water leak into HVAC fresh air intake system,
and the Front SAM computers if not the cabin at the same time.

It was not the sunroof but front screen.
I was to the workshop and the take out the front right tyre out and then open it op inside. Then we blow with air pressure through the hole. There was no constipation. And then the open it inside the car at the top and found out its not the sunroof but the front glass there was leaking. Now i have the get the front glass off and on again with new glue.
