2014 E350 4matic Sedan misfire
Yesterday for the first time my check engine light came on. This happened right after I started the car. It then ran rough. I stopped and turned the car off. When I restarted the car it ran perfect. The next day it did the same thing. I stopped and restarted the car. It ran fine. Today I took the car to the local Advanced Auto Parts store. They put their diagnostic devise on the car. It showed that number 3 cylinder had misfired. The car has 89,000 miles. Any thoughts? Thanks

The engine runs rough until it is stopped then ok after restarting.
The part store down the street pulled a code for Cyl#3 misfire.
This means cyl#3 low contribution causes crank to slow down enough the ECU picks up on the RPM unevenness.
This can be caused by ignition spark, fuel injector or bore scoring. Here you want to swap ignition components with #2 to see if misfire follows. Hopefully it does!
Since you don't have a scanner you are better off getting a ignition tuneup.

Replace the ignition coil on #3.
If you want to be certain, swap coils 1 & 3 and see if the problem moves to cylinder #1.
But 99% sure it’s the coil. Classic symptoms, easy fix.
Been there, done that (3 different times).
