w212 electric problems.

I have a problem with my w212 e350cdi 2009 I can"t connect the odb fault code reader for example, engine, transmission or somethink else modules. Obd scanner only found rear and front sam units. I have changed can connectors to the footwell because they are oxygenated or somethink. Also instrument panel backlights flashing at an even pace. The car does not know which gear is on, or at least it does not appear on the instrument panel. Sometimes car start and running good, and fault codes on the instrument panel is gone. But the error always comes back. Also! Ignition switch and front sam unit is okay because i used it for the auto electrical repair shop. Do you have any ideas what wrong with my mercedes?

2014 - W212.065 - E400 ( M276.820, 3 liter Turbo) RWD not Hybrid
My suggestion to you is to get a GOOD workshop with experience in MB cars electrically... a diagnostician.
This is not a mechanical job.... this is electrical.
Best if he has MB diesel engine electrical experience too because diesel engine electrical needs is a bit different from petrol engine.

A to Z

The attached fault report has more than 5 faults for each and every module... car currently not in "good repair" condition...

OPTION A: Help yourself!
1 - Begin with a good, fully charged main battery.
2 - Clear codes using scan-tool
3 - Try to start up the engine
4 - Scan the car again to get new fault list.

OPTION B: Save your time!
Go to a Mercedes SPECIALIST to get professional work done.

This car needs repair + maintenance to function again:
battery,
oil,
coolant,
transmission oil
air filter,
brakes,

DO NOT USE TOYOTA OILS, COOLANTS... this is a Mercedes that need special liquids.

Who ever ignored the car maintenance is responsible for its condition and current problems.
🤞

You have so many problems that it is unlikely those individual modules have real issues.

What is common for all modules is the Central Gateway (CGW or ZGW in German). All modules connect to this gateway and if it is bad, you get all sorts of errors and non-functioning modules/devices.

I had problems with mine in the 2012 S550 and when I opened the CGW I could not believe what I saw. THE PINS THAT CONNECT TO THE HARNESS WERE NOT SOLDERED TO THE BOARD!!! These pins are just pressed in the holes and the way they are made they can easily lose connection especially when the wire harness is taken off of the module.

I soldered the pins both sides of the board to make sure they have good connection and have not had any issues since.

My CGW (S550) is located in the left end of the dash where the AUX battery also is but in your E350 I think it probably is located in the passenger side footwell under the carpet but I'm not sure.

CGW is where I would start troubleshooting making sure it has good connections.
