Pneumatic trans drain adapter

Hey everyone

Was watching a LegitStreetCars video where Alex has a fitting that interfaces with a whole in the transmission and pushes compressed air through it forcing out a bunch of fluid.

He points out how lots of people won’t drain the transfer case because of how inconvenient it is to get to, and how using this fitting to push compressed air through the system will yield a good bit more fluid drained.

What might I search for to find this fitting?

Transfer case or torque converter?

The adapter attaches where the filter fits in the valve body. I have the kit but have not used it, and with the miles I put on the car, I will end up using it based on time and not mileage, which will be in another 4 or 5 years from now. At that point, I may not want to be under the car.

im not in a huge rush to put any pressure through an aging transmission with aging seals beyond what it does naturally for itself. it might be boomer logic but the fluid is the cheapest part of the car to replace

Your logic isn't flawed based on my understanding. The reason I think it might be okay to do is because this guy Alex is an ex Mercedes Master Tech with tens of millions of views on his hundreds of YouTube videos.
Considering human nature's strongest reaction to seeing things done "incorrectly" is to point out the error, and this is a very common occurrence in the comments section, I figure if it was that horrible of a thing to do, not only would alex not be doing it, he would get "called out" if the general population of his viewers didn't like it in any way.

Flawed logic? Possibly, but I gravitate towards it being more likely than unlikely.

Still though, to each their own. Every one of us has the right to do it however we see fit.

I'd have to go read the instructions, but from my understanding, you use very low pressure to move the fluid from the torque converter. As I said, I have the kit but haven't used it yet.
