can start stop be disables?
Hi, Im a long time member of the W211 forum, not very familiar with the W212. My cousin has a 2016 E350, he wanted to disable the start/stop function permanently. Im pretty sure it must be done by STAR. Has anybody done this before? can you please point me to specific links/discussion regarding this topic? Again, Im very familiar with the W211, but W212 is new to me.....

ORGANIZING a cReader THREAD....
This tool is so powerful...its overwhelming and easy to get lost navigating around modules.
We should organize a sort of power-user thread for it.
We don't need to struggle with chaos in darkness, we can easily get organized efficiently
> Structure:
-- Pics and traffic will be too big for one single thread.
-- Then that means... one thread per module indexed in root thread with links.
Since Master Surya introduced us to this LAUNCH scanner... he should have the root, yes?
He who owns the thread root is the only one that can maintain it....
or
PLAN-B: can we each groom an individual post with our index under Surya's cReader thread??
We are dealing with about 40+ modules out of which maybe less than 10 are truly full-fratured...
> How do you see us getting organized????
Say MS cReader thread structure is like:
1- An personal index to his cReader modules
2- A master index pointing to contributors indexes
We could each have two dozen individual cReader threads then the numbers will be overwhelming and somewhat useless ... thus organized index!
Who wants to do what if anything??
What this should be is a digest of individual modules functions that are exposed by cReader.

Sure. If you have the time to wait, that's fine. But people usually come here with their hair on fire needing help, and we can't help them until we know what's wrong. That's why I suggested next day with Amazon.
Now, one of the benefits with version 2.0 is that it has an internal battery so that you can disconnect it from a wall charger or the OBD port without shutting it down. I find that useful if I am out of network WiFi range and want to send off a report. I can move closer to my router. As far as actual scanning, both versions use the same software, so either if fine. I keep my original "portrait" version in one car and my "landscape" version in my other car.

You can also use Vediamo to re-code any module or function. I've used it once to program manual mode on the transmission of my old W204, but in all honesty, it is a lot of research work since it is a Mercedes engineering development software with an interface that is not at all user-friendly.

Just received the Launch device from amazon. The User Interface is different from the youtube video... anyway, I still figured out. When I clicked on the write coding (from active start/stop to no active), it said code writing "unsuccessful". Not sure what I did wrong. Questions: do I need to register the device before using? or do I need to update software 1st before using? I think the firmware right now is V15.16.....

There are 3 coders on here who can program your start stop to be saved on last setting: @BenzNinja , @EleBest , and @rjautomotive
All are forum sponsors and all have had many satisfied customers on here.
