W212 - 2010 E350
Yay Wagon!

Just took delivery of 2016 wagon, only 75k miles. My second W212, other is 2010 sedan.

So hard to find one in decent shape, so settled without many options. Has Premium package, lane tracking, and keyless go. Only standard headlights, MBTex (no tears yet!), surprisingly no parking sensors that I thought would be standard in a wagon.

Looking for some facelift tips, and any wagon specific tips, thanks!

CONGRATS!

It looks really clean and in good shape.

At 70kMi you can double-check or service a few items like suspensions, brakes, coolant.

Do you know what service was done already: ATF + plugs ??

Thanks for all the kind words. I’m not sure what was the last service done. It appears to have been maintained at dealers, so I’m somewhat hopeful the previous 2 owners actually kept up with any recommendations.

Some inexpensive items regularly get overlooked until too late:
  • rear diff oil 1Qt only
  • engine coolant hose leaks
  • roof drains water leak
  • Cam sensors oil leaks
  • serpentine belt idlers

Love to see another wagon represented here :-) This is what we've added that has worked well for us. Enjoy the journey!
  • Zacasi front and rear custom seat covers
  • Colgan front bra with insect screen
  • Thule roof box with Yakima aero bars
  • Windesa fabric window shades
  • Gloria fire extinguisher
  • Curt 1.25" trailer hitch
  • AMG E63 wagon car cover
  • 2nd set AMG winter wheels
  • 3rd row seat delete
  • RENNTech chip
Some of it is seasonal, like the winter wheels and ski box. The bra gets installed for highway trips, especially through the national parks in winter when they cover the roads with rock chips. The trailer hitch is used to carry our bikes; I don't have any towing desires. Removing that quite useless 3rd row seat has left us with a very handy cubby.

Edit: forgot to suggest several worthwhile software hacks that we really appreciate; AMG menu, Agility mode, ILS lighting, and Stop/Start deactivate.

I wish I had the option of ILS. It is really the one major option that gave me pause before I pulled the trigger.

Third row delete is also interesting, I like the idea of the storage cubby.

What does the agility mode do?

In my case it provides the suspension setting of S and the transmission setting of E, perfect for cruising mountain highways.

Dealer Service Records

Suggest calling dealer & giving them VIN # to
check service records.

Then I guess you’re out of luck, that vendor probably has no way of checking for your application…
