Transmission fluid and filter flush 6L or 9L?
Hi all,
I have a 2011 E350 RWD ---> WDDHF5GB2BA470460
I found this video, which is really detailed regarding filter and fluid flush, but this guys used 6L to fill in the car.
Then I watched this video where the guy drained the torque converter and filled in 9L of fluid:
Both you tubers have really good detailed videos for W212s. I know I need the Blue ATF as I have code 89 and I'll be using Pentosin ATF 134 FE.
If someone can give me a hint what's the correct amount of fluid I need to pump in that would be great

Not watching the videos, I would think that the difference is whether you also flush the torque converter and transmission cooler.
WRT the amount to add in, that is determined by the amount taken out and when the fluid starts to overflow at a specific temperature.

I was just wondering if anyone that did that transmission service used the same amount?

I've done the transmission service a few of times on this transmission, at least three or four times.
By the way, even with the red fluid, FCP offers a pan upgrade to the newer filter and larger pan for those older transmissions.

Well, the blue fluid does have a larger capacity transmission oil pan, so it may use more fluid. The point is, the proper amount is when the fluid runs out and stops dripping when it has reached a certain temperature. So, let's say that happens when you have put 7 liters in. Adding two more is just going to run out. You can't put 9 in if you took 7 out (assuming that it was at the proper level in the beginning).

If it's overfilled it will just drip out as shown on the videos above, because it will be above the overflow level (the green plastic).

So, if I read your comment correctly, I should drain the old fluid, measure it and if it's roughly 6 liters, add a bit more, lets say 1 more liter, just in case the transmission is not under-filled.
If it's overfilled it will just drip out as shown on the videos above, because it will be above the overflow level (the green plastic).

I`ve done a fair amount of 722.9s in my garage, always measured what came out and put back same amount +1 qt/liter then adjust the level according to the fluid temperature, no issues so far.
On my X164, without the Torque Convertor comes about 6 liter, once the TC is drained its about 8, I start filling 9 and then go from there.
Can`t remember the 212 at the moment, its been a while, actually its due in about 5K miles, I go with 30K miles intervals.
