My car was in a frontal wreck earlier this year. I’ve had the SRS light on ever since. I’m wanting to do something about it now. A scan shows the pyrofuse as the culprit. Dealer doesn’t sell pyrofuse by itself, it’s part of positive cable which they sell for $265.
I’d like to do it myself, but don’t know how far or where that positive cable goes. Any ideas would help!
My question is, where does the cable travel to from battery? I read on the W211, that positive cable goes behind the firewall. How about the W212?
You mean the big positive cable , the one with the pyro fuse ( F63) on its terminal ?
That big cable goes direct to STARTER motor called M1. See schematic below .
If the pyrofuse called F63 , its small connector, the 2 small wires which I believe is what the Launch called "SQUIB", that goes to SRS Module. "An airbag squib is a small, controlled explosive device that ignites the propellant in an airbag/fuse to inflate/disconnect it"
