2012 E350 Bluetec, 2014 GLK250, 2007 CLK350 convertible
Shift into park question

My '12 E350 won't shift in Park when using the stalk shifter button but it will shift into Park when opening the driver door. This is a relatively new problem because it used to shift into Park okay. There is no problem shifting into Drive or Reverse. Any thoughts?

Is it repairable or do the whole stalk assemblies have to be replaced?

you will need to use a scanner to query faults... likely a marginal SCM networking issue mixed with unstable voltage.

Long story short: rebooting the chassis should fix soft-cradhed SCM temporarily chance for No parts needed...?

Just never bang on steering column when tilt gets stuck.

Nope, steering side to side was used to reset positioning sensor. These days are gone. SVM is self centered.

I know it is confusing - It seems all W212 PRND selectors must fail regardless AMG or standard.

That's not even involving the ISM Solderless shifter module: a "security dealer only" item.
