I recently purchased a 2011 E350 BlueTech whose previous owner had installed a 10.5 Android. It has great sound when just using AUX playing music as long as nothing else is on the screen using CarPlay. If I bring up any other app such as maps or show and other app containing any video or pictures on it, it gets very choppy. Any ideas?

sounds like a buggy device. if you know who made it and what model it is, you can see if they have a firmware upgrade that might fix it, but support for offbroad chinese stereo stuff is pretty sketchy

Are you enjoying Android yet?
Look at live "Running services" under the developers options.
Something has your CPU/SOC bandwidth maxed out!
It may be a heavy app combination on a small system or a single poorly written app.
Interestingly the way Android does "battery optimization" keeps killing/dosing the system main process itself. It should only dose Apps!!
This screws up performance.
-- Go under Settings > Apps > Battery Optimization > Select: "AndroidSystem". Set Optimize: No.
Repeat for App entry named "Settings" ... set: No.
Then your system will have more efficiency.
There are a few more good (Ggle Services) entries and options such as Android "1-1-1" options set to "0-0-0" to enable greater UI snappiness.
