COLLISION PREVENTION ASSIST NOT SHOWING AMONGST DRIVEASSIST OPTIONS

Hello everyone
i have a w212 2014 that’s meant to have the collision prevention assist plus feature (i know cause i looked up VIN and also had a technician check with xentry)

when i start the car, the red triangle lights comes on for a second as well (alongside all the other dashboard lights which is normal when you start a car)

When i investigated why it wasn’t showing under drive assist, they said the module was bad and i had to get a new one.

SCN coding was done after installing the new one.

The technician mentioned the feature was initially deactivated before i bought the car and he had to re-activate it.

could this be why I’m not seeing it in drive assist or atleast seeing “COLLISION PREVENTION ASSIST INOPERATIVE”?
before changing the module, i used to have “PRE-SAFE FUNCTIONS LIMITED” though

After SCN coding & reactivating, the technician told me to drive around for a bit before it would start working. It’s been 5 days and I’ve been driving long distances .
i took it back to the technician couple of times and he showed me the adjustment (or adaptation, I’ve forgotten what he called it) was at 99%. (It was previously at 90%, then 96% 3 days ago, then as at yesterday 99%).

how long do i need to drive for it to start working and what conditions or criteria do i need to meet while driving?

currently under drive assist, i only see “Assist. graphic, ESP, ATTENTION ASSIST.

You've paid good money to have this system worked on. Let the specialist see that the repair works.

Here are the IC Options I have available...
DRIVE ASSIST 1/2 menu entries
DRIVE-ASSIST: 1/2 menu entries

2/2 entries
DRIVE-ASSIST : 2/2 entries

Collision assist is a quick coordinated reaction of safety module, not so much pretty display animation. It's more like a simplistic IC Graph + Beep-Beep warnings :
  1. independant braking
  2. self-steering
  3. seats highspeed travel
  4. steering column tilt
  5. seatbelt tensioners
  6. headrest
  7. (misc. SRS airbags)
  8. ECU/TCU off
  9. pyrotechnic power cutoff
  10. mBrace SAT. geolocation + Emcy call

Crash-prevention sensors data retrieved from
  • Microwave Front/Rear radars
  • G-forces acceleration/deceleration/rotation
  • steering angle
  • wheel speeds
  • ...

FCW is only a primitive function on cars that do have DTR - Distronic

It's just a warning and only brake on a imminent impact.

Is this the case?

When i run a VIN check, i see I have COLLSN. WARN. SYS W/ ACTIVE BRAKE INTERV. FCW STOP but it doesn’t work

These are the only options under DriveAssist
the red triangle lights also doesn’t light up or beep in dangerous situations.

I have had it checked out, replaced the module and done SCN coding.
my complaint here is, how long am i meant to drive for before it fully adapts cause its been 5 days now.
when i took it back to the technician yesterday, it was 99% then. They said when it hits 100% it will engage automatically

I’ve driven long distances since then and its still not activated

so that's a wrong assumption.
What you're saying TOTALLY MAKES SENSE but not to MB engineers.

CPA has no user options, it is always ON, period!

SO YOU KNOW....
-- if you dislike the "belt self-tightening" each time you start the engine, disable the function but the item will not be called during Emcy.
-- Same limitation with the convenient-entry, once disabled column won't move in Emcy.

Do you have Xentry, Vediamo, stuff? Sometimes it needs to activate the function after some unsuccessful SCN attempts.
