2011 E350
2011 E350

Car was driven through flood and initially had power removed battery plugged back up battery and now nothing whatsoever no power to case whatsoever Trying to troubleshoot but at a loss?

  • steering rack $$$$
  • alternator $$$
  • harness/cleaning $$$$
  • (engine fan?) $$$
  • (headlights) $$$$
  • wheel bearings
  • main chassis GND Strap $$
  • ....

Plus expert hours troubleshooting each systems.

> Cost & results not worth troubles.

2011 E350
Got power back the starter was fried fuse 7 was shot. Replaced both of those and now just hear a click at and the cluster goes dark. No water in CAN Bus areas.
Basic scanner gave these DTCTrouble Code(s)

Code UO100, Your ECU is likely wet or corroded, check connections under front footwell carpets, Many of the other codes may disappear after repairing that one, you may need a rebuilt ECU or you fried one of the fusable links,

Has it had time to dry out yet?

Should not run power through anything until every bit of car bone dry.

When power runs through wet boards it finds shortcuts. And moves ions around, shorting things out permanently. Moist carpet means electronics are SOAKING WET. Would you expect a laptop to keep working if full of water?

You most likely will NEVER get car running again. And even if you do, you will likely have a never ending series of cascading faults and gremlins.

If the car was a 1964, could have easily been dried out and fixed. But with everything now sending low voltage signals to a control module that then triggers a relay to energize a circuit, WAY too many things to track down, especially when power run through wet circuits.
