2014 E350 4Matic alternator noise in one direction
I need some expert help to see if my alternator should be replaced or I can replace the alternator pulley. Please see the video here
. When I turn it clockwise, it is very smooth but when I turn it counterclockwise, it is very noisy. Shall I replace the whole alternator or just the pulley? Many thanks.

Check you pulley type, if it is standard pulley, it is then the bearing of the alternator which made that noise for CCW rotation.
If you have OAD or OAP pulley type, it could be the pulley itself because it has internal mechanism.

Does the pulley show any freeplay?
What is the total current mileage?
Replace or repair ??
