Hi everyone. I'm having an issue trying to pair a set of original used headsets on my W212 with rear entertainment system. I first tried using Xentry passthrough version 22.12.3 and when I try to use the paring teach in function I get the ECU rejected the command error message. I assumed it was a software issue with my Xentry installation, so I've installed a newer version of Xentry (25.3.3) and achieved the same results.
I'm kind of stuck. I've suspected that because the battery charger I use only has a 10amp output, the voltage oscillating between 12.1~12.4 could be the issue, so I've tried turning the engine on, but got the same results. The only thing I've noticed is that I got the paring procedure to work for a brief moment right after I had shut the engine down (not long enough to pair with the headset unfortunately).
Yes, they are the original Mercedes ones (model P104) but purchased used from Ebay. They both seems to works (LED lights up and blinks as they go into paring mode) but Xentry is not cooperating...
That was my original thought. Then I got to checking and these headsets were out of our GLS not the e. The E headsets were all black with no silver anywhere on them. I have not yet turned on the car to verify this that would take possibly 90 seconds out of my day..
I've got mine by searching the PN on the EPC (A2228201889). Based on the code they are the same as for the W222. The core of my issue is that the Xentry is not able to put the screens into paring mode. The headsets could be off or on and it doesn't change the results.
So, tried with a full battery this time and got the same results... I think I'll try installing Xentry from a clean installation to see if anything changes.
Someone suggested to try and input the headsets UID directly. I did some digging and found a sticker under the right ear foam with the UID hex. Xentry was still unable to load the UID directly. Same error as before. So I've switched to Vediamo and was able to pair both headsets. CBF file to look for are DISP_RR and DISP_RL and the routine is "RT_Store_UID_to_Kleer_Module_Start_status". I think I might have overthink this one as I'm pretty sure "Association Mode Start" would put the screen in paring mode and would have worked without having the UID and bypassing the Xentry issue. In any case, if anyone has this issue in the future this was my solution.
