Repair of side radar modules

I have an bad rear side blind spot radar module 0009050110 located the side of the bumper wrap. Are these modules easily repairable? Can be cut open and parts are not encased in epoxy or hard to remove material?
What the common failure on these modules?
What's the changes of a used module will be good on ebay?
I guess that I should swap out the bad left to the good right and vise versa to see it it is the module or wiring.
Thanks,
Dave

It's both the harness and the module that are involved in water penetration.

The internal electronic are built without effective protection so that any amount of water develops terminal oxidations.

Easy to swap around. But, if you get a new one it will need Paint

Happened to me. The driver side went bad. Swapped between sides and the problem followed. Bought a used one from eBay but it was faulty, returned.

Bought a new one from MB dealer, all good.

My sensor did not show any external damage at all. No signs of water getting in it or damage at harness. It just went bad.

Hardest part of the job is to get the harness off of the sensor. I did the first swap taking the bumper cover off but then installing first the eBay sensor and then the new one I did without taking the cover off and it was hard for that harness connection part. Not much room to work with, but doable.

Any technique to release the connector from the sensor?
I have seen some chinese sensor with the same part number but has works only on 2009 and earlier. Firmware not updated?

Very small hands. There just is no room.
