W212 E350 2010. center trim with clock facelift

Hi guys
Is it possible to replace the trim with the facelifted one that has a clock in middle?
I know that hazard lights switch needs to be moved down to a new switchplate below the COMMAND unit (old one with black switches to a new one with aluminum switches).
Also I think that new trim has a small gap at end points near steering wheel and on opposite side near windows ac vent, ambilight connector could be different but that is easily mendable and instrument cluster brightness knob has to come out because the facelift trim has no hole for it, brightness control was moved to settings on screen.
So I gather there is some coding involved?
Can someone explain why is the SAMF 172 required? If mine is SAMF 212 can it be recoded to 172?
After installation, how do we adjust the time on the clock?
I only have to relocate the hazard light switch as there is no ESP button there on my w212 (2010. E350 cgi).
There is little to no information available about this retrofit so any help would be appreciated for future and present retrofitters

live without it... 👍

This fancy clock is set automatically by the car itself using GPS satellites data... I kid you not!

It's that simple when it works. It's the same way NTG-4.5 Clock gets set after chassis reboot.

I have thought about that as well. The issue would be...where does your hazard button go to? I forget where it is my my other E. I just used them last night too...

I think this is a pretty considerable job... there are a lot of small things that are different. Some obvious things like the clock and the hazards lights but also the dash dimmer (which doesn't exists on the post-facelift), ambient lights, etc.

I doubt it's a fairly an easy job nor a plug & play stuff . Let's not forget hazard lights also are in the different location in our facelift cars . So , you will have to buy a center console as well. I doubt it would worth it . I love the look of the analog clock but it's up to you

You can insert the connector at 12am or 12pm if you do not have SAMF_172 or don't wish to do coding. SAMF_212 does not have the variant coding to enable analog clock, thus you will be unable to set the time from HU.
