Problem with engine turning over on y ‘10 E350
All of a sudden my 2010 E350 doesn’t want to turn over at all for some strange reason when I turn the key. It’s not strictly an engine battery problem because the battery is a new MB battery from just several months ago and if I turn the key 5-6 times it eventually fires up. What could cause this?

(Let us see a picture of engine from the front towards driver side: pump cover?)
The difference here is ESL or not...
In cars with steering pump, the chassis is guarded by an ESL module to help "prevent theft".
This module is built around a $5 actuator (eBay is your friend!) that expires when challenged.
Plug-in your trusted scanner to read faults from EIS/EZS Module... faults about "mechanicsl failure...".
Without a scanner you can....
hope for luck and try to ease the static steering wheel torque on parked car. Then try turning ignition key ...
