Keyless Go Confusions
I recently bought a 2011 Mercedes E350 Sedan (4matic v6). It came with two keyfobs. I did notice online that you can buy a push button on amazon. So I figured I would give it a go.
Bought the little button, I put it in there hoping keyless go would work, doesn't work for me. Fits but won't start.
When I look online my key fobs "look" like the type of key that would support keyless go. Forums show that the 2011 E350 did have that feature by then, though some say not all.
I am happy to give the VIN (WDDHF8HB6BA436716) . Can anyone help me determine if this is a feature or something I could retrofit easily?
Dealership will of course want a million bucks.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
PS: Is there a setting anywhere that keeps the radio from turning on everytime you get in the car? I turn off the radio, turn off the car... get in , turn on car.. Go in reverse or anything that brings up the command control center and the radio is on each time.
Only owned this car for a week and working through these things.

You'll need modules, antennaes and programming skills plus specific MB files... its the opposite of fun plugNplay.

Just like TPMS used to be based on wheel speed and later it became pressure based with wireless wheel sensors.

He knews and knew he did not have the option - thus someone sold him the button assembly. The reality is (as you know) it is more than a button. For instance, this link (granted, to AliExpress) has a kit (test at your own risk).
Wire harness, door handles, antenna....if like most things Ali, it is not complete nor functional.

Here is a (very low cost) module for the keyless...BUT...what is the programming going to cost? He would need a dealership or a @BenzNinja

Thank you for all this. This seems a bit more than I thought it would be. I guess I will just look for it on my next new/old car. This car will be with me for awhile. ]
