W213 fully revealed. (Pics)
The 212, and I realize I'm on your forum and I mean no disrespect, but I never "got" it. Usually with a new Benz design I'm ambivalent, then I grow to appreciate it, then I admire it. I never got there on the 212.
I do agree that both inside and out the new design language is decidedly feminine, where the 212 was all about crisp squared off lines and bulging haunches, the 205/213/222 go off in the opposite direction.
I'd buy the 213 for the chassis and interior, but I'm not put off by the body at all.

The S as you point out is a great long hauler and comfortable but kind of lumbering and floaty. Rewarding to drive but not fun.
I don't feel sporty at all. But it looks more luxery feel. Maybe thats the true MB form.
I am dying to see the new E63.
Hopefully, new E63 has much more sporty look.
I had a W201 back in the days when all the MB's looked similar except for size. I felt no negative feelings about that -- as long as the family style was one that I liked (which it was, back then).
I'll wait to see how I feel about the W213, and enjoy the heck out of my W212 while I'm waiting.

A 222. Not "a gay." Not that there's anything wrong with that.

I wonder if that 222 will grow on me when it comes time to replace my current S. By then there will probably be some decent CPO's. Unfortuantely warranty will be up on both cars in 2017 about three months apart. It is a perfect storm of MB ownership. I will either have to replace both of them or roll the dice and own one out of warranty for a little while. So far both have been fairly trouble free but all it takes is one airmatic or tyranny as you have experienced first hand.

The more I look at these pics of the new E350 from the OP link, the more I notice that the two front ends are not the same. Interesting. So maybe more choices than just sport or luxury.

So if say you'd have 3 styles to choose from, until the AMG car(s) come along. I say cars, plural, because they did something unusual with the C450 AMG. Basically it got the electronic suspension and brakes from the C63, and a TTV6 instead of a hand built engine, with an AMG exhaust. But it starts in the 50's vs the C63 in the 70's.
So what are you going to do? The W213 will be the best class in its segment on the day it is launched, and it's a big leap over the w212.
