Everywhere I look on that car I see Mercedes spending serious money to do something special. You'll know exactly how wisely that money was spent when you see how far Audi and BMW have to go to keep up. Home run in the 222 S Class using that design ethic and platform, home run in the new 205 C Class, and my guess is this will be their best selling E, if not best selling model period. MB is on a roll.
I will grant you that the E looks like a 3/4 scale S, and the C looks like a shorter, narrower E. I don't know that different cars from the same manufacturer that look similar constitutes a "monopoly". It's pretty much standard practice.

I had a W211 and hated the front end of the W212 when it came out but gradually warmed up to it particularly in the right colors (white, palladium silver, silver).
I like the pre-facelift front end better than the facelift. Really dislike the facelift lights with the LED's. I think the W213 front end is much more cohesive than either the pre or post facelift though I think that it is a little boring.

Still gonna take a while for me to warm to the rear end. The rest of the car looks great. I still have not warmed to the rear end of the S-Class. Can't tell from the video but hope this car does not have the clown face steering wheel like the W222 has. I am going to have to drive and see one of these 213s in person.

the 241hp 2.0 liter is a huge disappointment! The front is slightly growing on me but the back ...mmm not so much. Can't wait for it to be at the dealer so I can check it out!

Beautiful - Mercedes is back to making beautiful cars. W/S212 was ugly from day one. Awkward jutting out front, ugly rear lights. Disjointed design. With the replacement of the GLK and now the E ugly streak has been eradicated.
Any one is knows anything about the brand will know that Mercedes always made cars that looked alike - it is called branding. You should be able to recognize a brand by the look.
Those who are concerned that a C looks like an E or an E like an S clearly do not understand that the point of buying an S over an E over a C is about the driving comfort and luxury and not to "brag" or "show-off" their status.
This change could not come soon enough - the W212 is the ugliest middle-class Mercedes of all times, and will go down in history as such. I am guessing that selling the W212 over the last 2 years has been somewhat of an embarrassment for Mercedes.
