steering wheel replacement
i have a 2017 E300 and thinking to change the steering wheel to a flat bottom style, been eyeing on a what describe as an OEM steering wheel on ebay listed for $430 plus $50 shipping.
Above is the picture of the steering wheel, it looks like an oem product, i did ask the seller and was told that it would be a pretty easy switch and everything should work as normal. The control buttons on the steering wheel does look like the ones on the car.
Item listed as below in the Ebay's description.
NEW AMG 2016 Mercedes-Benz E-Class W213 steering wheel with airbag and pedals.
Steering wheel black lather and black stitches.
Part number A0004606700
does anyone know if i can just swap the steering wheel without any issues? cause one of my friends told me i might need to some perform some programming in order for the car to recognize the new steering wheel, so everything would work properly.
appreciate your time.

not sure how any of the button functions will be lost or even needs any coding when all the chips and plugs are the same from your stock steering wheel I assume (?). the way i see it, the only difference is the shape. if thats the case then you should be alright.

Airbag should be exactly the same, they are the same on almost all benzes, just wrapped different for different models/trims. It should plug right in and work just fine.
You will have to disconnect the battery before you remove it, or the car will set an airbag fault when you disconnect it and will have to be reset.

Bumping this. I am curious if 6600 or 6700 is the part number with lane assist. I am looking to do this wheel in my 18 E300 with lane assist vibration (but not heated).
