2017 E300 (W213) Luxury Model - #489 AIR BODY CONTROL air suspension

Hi, this forum has been quite useful in learning about the mercedes and gathering information. So, thanks to everyone trying to help

I have a bought a new 2017 E300 (W213) Luxury Package/Model version (Its my first merc; so not aware of much details with this manufacturer/dealer). It has not been delivered to me yet. At the time of ordering this car; after I made the payment and bought per specs - about 10 days after that, my dealer had some questions about whether I wanted the air suspension option. I am sure, I had it in the specs .. but not sure were it got lost in translation. And I hope they ordered the correct car/build for me

However; when they are to deliver - how am I to verify if the car delivered to me has the option #489 - AIR BODY CONTROL air suspension on it?

The other physical options, colour-ex. beige, material, paint, dual display etc ... can be easily verified. However, I was not sure, how to verify if my car is built with air-suspension

In this forum, I read that quite a number of merc users bought their cars/SUvs with air-suspension. Hence it would be quite helpful, if you folks could shed some light on how to verify if my car is built with one

Option #489 - AIR BODY CONTROL air suspension

Thank You!!
-J

I believe all installed options will be printed on the vehicle's window tag. The dealer can also give you a detailed print out. Lastly, they will walk you through the options and answer your questions during the delivery process, which takes about an hour.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info ADD0514. Yes, I understand they will handle things professionally and follow the process. If the list is a factory printed list, then I can see it as more reliable than locally printed by the dealer. I was also wondering if I could verify that by checking into the settings/options through the information panel. Or by verifying the presence of a component somewhere in the car; like a part underneath the car (sorry, I don't know much about this suspension); or an optional button on the car dash board to engage air-suspension, etc ... etc ...

While I do appreciate your response - thank you!

I believe it is impossible to order a 2017 Mercedes E Luxury without air body control. Go to the 2017 Mercedes E build and try to build one without air body control. If you select the luxury model while building a 2017 E, then air body control is automatically added to your selection.

The product concierge who walks you through the car in the delivery process will verify the installed options, show you how to use the COMMAND system to navigate, enable/disable various systems, personalize the vehicle, and guide you through the active safety systems. If you still have any question afterward, just press a button located at the overhead console and you'll be connected to a specialist who can assist you at any time. MB is very good at providing information.

I would suggest getting the datacard on your car. That should show all of the equipment on your build. If the car has been built it should be available. Good Luck, enjoy the ride.

When mentioning 'air suspension option', I assume it means the 'Air Body Control' suspension option?

I think with the Air Body Control suspension, on the center console of the car will have a button to adjust the ride height. Upon delivering of your car, you should be able to see the button and hence verify the car has the Air Body Control option. Hope it helps.

Worst case, you will be able to verify the options through the VIN number.

2017 E300W4 w/o Air Body Control

Just took delivery today of my 2017 E300W4 without the Air Body Control.
I told my dealer that I didn't want that option as imo it's a waste of a lot of money. Also, I had a 2006 E550 that had a similar air body control that was a constant headache and wound up costing me $2,000 in repair bills and I decided "Never Again"! Of course, to each his own.

I have an e43 on order that comes standard with the air suspension. I do hope that it is an overall improvement on the airmatic suspension in my 2011 e550. In my case, it has been trouble free, my only complaint is that it can be very rough on bad roads, has a tendency to firm up when you hit any kind of pothole, becomes a shock transmaitter as opposed to being a shock absorber. I seem to be getting mixed opinions from reviews I've read as to whether the air suspension is still kind of rough or forgiving on tough roads, seen what seem to be opposite opinions. I hope for the best. Regards. Ned.
