Excessive Moisture in cabin after rain
Wondering if anyone else experiencing completely fogged windows and damp feeling in E300 cabin after being out in the rain. Occurs after I have driven the car in the rain with the AC on and parked car. When I come out to get back in the car all windows totally fogged and damp feeling in car. I live in Florida and with the panorama roof on a black car. I need to keep the AC set around 69 - 72 when driving because the car heats up in the Florida sun...I realize there is probably a bit of a temperature inversion if the car is sitting after that and it rains but never have had this in any other car. I have checked everywhere in the car to make sure there isn't any leaking area into the cabin but everything seems dry.
The windows clear fairly quick when I start and turn on both the front and back window defogger.
Any ideas?

Like I stated above only occurs when the car has been parked after a rain and the AC was on before parking. I do appreciate the suggestion. Going to dealer next week.

In the w212 all sorts of fans run after the car is turned off... some are associated with removing moisture and condensation. Perhaps this system isn't running appropriately in your w213

I was looking at the bulletins thread sticky at the top of the page and noticed this
LI54.18-P-064682 AUG16 – 213 moisture ingress into interior, firewall grommet may not be within specified dimensions. Install grommet using adhesive sealant. Assembly line clean point (resolve) expected 8/30/16.
The moisture is probably referring to actual water coming into the vehicle, and not air moisture, but interesting none the less

Can't remember if it was written in the manual or a bulletin that the cabin may become humid because of the above feature.

Fan starts after a while since the car is parked (only if AC has been used while driving). The intention is not to remove moisture from the cabin but to dry up the HVAC housing (to prevent mould, or mold if you prefer).

Hey sflguy42u,
What did the dealer say about the interior fogging up excessively? I recently just got a W213 and is experiencing the exact same thing as you, specifically after rainy days. Wonder if you have a solution to this? Or at least an explanation?
Thanks in advance.

I will ask my dealer and see if they have an explanation. I did some research on this on the internet and found that this can just be normal. I wasn't satisfied with the explanation because if it was normal, all my other cars would have experienced the same thing- that on rainy days, the interior would fog up. I live in Asia where there is no winter. Its 24hrs summer (sun or rain, that's it). Now I have experienced this in winter countries but i shouldn't be experiencing this here. My car AC is usually on 18degC, whereas the atmospheric temperature should be approx 25degC on rainy days. In fact, I experienced the exact issue just now. Rainy night and I drove the car. Once parked, few minutes later I can see the car interior fogged up heavily. Later on, I needed to turn on the AC for a bit before the fog clears and then I can drive again. Its annoying. Once I got home, I left the car doors open for awhile and I don't see the car fogged up. I supposed I allowed the temperature to equalize? I checked for any wet carpets, found none. Car is pretty new at 2 months old. I have a C class and two other S class. None experience this problem, even on rainy days.
