For what its worth I applied Aquapel last fall on my E350's windshield and I have no chatter issues. My blades are Bosch Aerotwin. The rain sheets off nicely, ice and snow are much easier to remove too.

I have been using this since the mid '90's after seeing it on Motorweek. Make sure you get the original.

I just ordered 2 cans of original 1886 Bon Ami which will come to my local Ace Hardware. A much cheaper solution to the problem. From the Bon Ami website:

Bon Ami 1886 Formula

When Bon Ami Original 1886 Formula was created it was state-of-the art, crafted to care for homes and kitchens with a gentle effectiveness that was unlike anything else on the market. The recipe was simple: tallow soap and feldspar. Bon Ami’s innovation was adding the more gentle abrasive powder feldspar to make a soap that was effective at cleaning but gentle on surfaces. We still make the 1886 Formula Cleaning Powder the same way. We find that many customers prefer this formula for specialty uses.

Bon Ami 1886 Original Formula now wears a red label to help customers identify it right away. Being more of a specialty product, it’s a little harder to find. Look for it at your local TrueValue store, Do it Best store, Ace Hardware store, or on-line at BonAmi.net.

Favorite Uses for the 1886 Formula

People write in all the time with interesting uses for the 1886 Formula Cleaning Powder. One of the most common is cleaning glass. The original formula is safe to use on most glass because the tallow soap means that slurry of the powder and a little water will glide over the glass surface, cleaning away dirt but not scratching. This formula leaves behind a slight, invisible film that protects the glass from salt spray making it a favorite for boats and seaside homes. This film keeps mirrors from fogging up in the bathroom too.

If you have a favorite use for the 1886 Formula Cleaning Powder, write us and tell us what it is.

5 simple ingredients 1886 Formula
Limestone ~ Calcium carbonate
Feldspar
Biodegradable cleaning agents ~ Alkyl polyglucoside
Soda ash ~ Sodium carbonate
Baking soda ~ Sodium bicarbonate

Been using it for years. 5 stars.
Never had to use it on a car with rain sensors though, so proceed with caution.

When I used Aquapel my chatter was so severe it wouldn't wipe the whole windshield on half the swipes. I had to buff the stuff off the windshield with glass polish and a buffer!!!!
I still use it on all other glass surfaces just not on the windshield.

No doubt aquapel is the best glass treatment out there. It simply doesn't agree with MB new wipers at all.

The dealer changed out the wipers and the annoying chatter is still there. The chatter happens when the wiper reaches the end of the drivers side window, is this the same with others?

Mine skips and hops in light rains, groans constantly--particularly at the end of the down strokes.
I took the car to the dealer today, the SA said that he has received similar complaints. MB is aware of the problem but has no fix at this moment.

So I had the problem with skipping and hopping of the wipers (particularly on the drivers side). I mentioned it when I brought the car in and the wiper blades were replaced and the angle was checked/adjusted.
Funny enough that made the hoping and skipping even worse initially, so I made another appointment with the SA but also cleaned the windshield with some of the glass cleaners mentioned on the thread and after another two rainy days with hopping and skipping, magically the hopping and skipping was reduced to a very bearable minimum so I cancelled the appointment.....

Hope that all of you get similar results.....

I agree. Seems that the trouble across the brand relates to vehicles imported vs made in the USA. Wouldn't surprise me to learn that they use deicing fluid on them prior to driving on the ship.
