Hood Open Alarm

Driving down the highway this morning the Hood Open Alarm starting chiming with a visual on the dash. The hood was secured and closed. I opened the hood and gave it a good close, but after 45MPH the alarm resumes. I looked around but was unable to locate the hood switch causing the alarm. Anyone know where it is on the 2017 E300?

I've made a service appointment for tomorrow just in case...

Incorporated into engine hood locks (1) shown on 212. More times than not hood is not closed properly.

Thanks konig, I took a closer look at lunch and sure enough the driver side hood latch had not caught. When I was looking at the spacing between the hood and the grill, it became slightly larger from center to the driver side hood lock. Opened the hood and gave it a strong close and it caught.

Problem soved, thanks

Had exact same this morning after filling up windscreen washer reservoir last night. Looked and felt closed but need to give it a solid push in right hand side just back from light unit. Heard it click and no more warning. My 212 was a bit picky over how you closed it too, must be A merc thing.

.
Bimmers have similar issues. When I close the hood, I make sure to give each side a solid push.

Yes, and I have also experienced it where it takes some time before it gives you the warning.

Also, did anyone else notice that the hood can no longer be lifted 90 degrees?

My understanding is since the passenger and center hood locks are engaged, it takes a good amount of wind sheer to lift the driver side hood lock high enough to trigger the alarm. For me it took about 45MPH of speed.

Interesting about the lack of 90 degree lift, I'll have to look into that more...
