Waiting..... Still in "production". At this rate if a decent E 63 (with all the goodies) shows up first I might just bite the bullet and buy it. My main concern about the 63 was RWD, since its AWD after all, I'm not so hesitant about it.

It goes to show you how few people actually participate in this forum, sometimes we think we represent the world of Mercedes owners. There are now doubt hundreds out there somewhere, just not members of the forum, people with better things to do, how outrageous! Regards. Ned.

My guess is 1 per dealer, however, most will just sit there. Most people paying 80 to 90k will want exactly what they want in a car, few will be satisfied with simply whats available on the lot.

My dealer has delivered 2. Mine would have been the third with a first decade of April build but I switched to the E63S.

Can you say nosedive? The E43 is significantly over-priced for what you get and when the E50 comes out, it will be even more obvious. For most people looking to spend $80K to $90K, the alternate brand options are just too compelling. There was one at an MB sponsored C+C this past weekend and everyone just kept walking right by it.

2016 C450 break AMG Sport
Rumors are talking about a straight six engine to replace the V6, with less CO2 emission, and more power. With this engine it will be the E50 AMG. But i say again, rumors... ;-)

Its as fast as the 8 cylinder GSF which starts at 83k so I dont see what the hubub is all about. That is the same price as an E43 with all the electronic goodies. Plus it looks a lot better and its leagues ahead interiorwise. I think its more than competitive. The E63 will take care of anything else.

If you try to keep up with MB engine swaps youll never buy one. One or 2 year models are the rule rather than the exception. One thing seems certain the 2.0 gas and diesel and the 9gtronic are the only things that will be around for a while.

The new I-6 engine denoted as M256 with more than 400 hp and a 48v electrical system will be arriving in the S Class this summer. Allow another year or so for it to start filtering down the model lines.

For the 212 model run, they had two upgrades of the 6 and 8 cylinder engines, from 268hp to 306 on the 350 six and 380 to 400+ and twin turboed on the 550 eight, not including any Amg stuff. Usually happens at the refresh cycle. It will be interesting to see if they move on engines before refresh. Refresh won't be till 2020 model in 2019. We'll see. Regards. Ned.

Lexus GS F
Well.... maybe they would sell more of them, if the dealers let you test drive an E43....

First dealer I went to wouldn't allow a test drive.....They only had 1 E43...sticker price was about 82k, and I was told... at most, a couple of hundred dollars as a discount.....

They said that buyers of the AMG cars are very sensitive about the mileage on the car...
My response was that it's not even a real AMG....
That did not convince her.... LOL

I eventually went to another dealer, and did drive one.....but some people won't make the effort.....

In the end, I did not get the E43....
Ended up with a nice deal on a Lexus GS F....

Won't find much love here picking a Lexus GS over a Mercedes e43. Many here would feel that Lexus has done nothing but rest on their laurels, not bringing a whole lot of excitement to the table. I test drove a few F series vehicles and they were overly firm but not much else. Hope the gs shows better. Regards. Ned.

Lexus GS F
That's fair enough.....
I was simply giving an opinion as to why you don't see many E43s on the road.....
I'm not looking for love here....
We are here to discuss cars...

And everyone has different things they look for in a car....

I just didn't think that the asking price for the E43, for what you get, was worth it....

And to be fair, I felt the same about the GS F.... sticker price was to high for what you get.....

But where the Benz dealer would not deal.... the Lexus dealer did....
and I got a real good price.....

I'm not smashing Mercedes.... I've had two of them in fact....
An E320 first, which I traded in for a CLK500....
because I wanted more power.....

E43 is a really nice car.... just not worth the price of admission.... at least to me...

Shelly

2017 Mercedes Benz E43 AMG
Got our first Mercedes this last weekend. An E43 with premium 3 (driver assistance is what I wanted from there the most) for a good price after a week of bargaining and shopping around. We've been Audi divers and still have another Audi in the house (it's an S5).

Overall we're really enjoying the E43. One of the best interiors we've seen and far superior than Audi and BMW in our opinion. Practical and very modern.

Haven't seen any here in NYC and I'm on the LIE and BQE everyday.
I too ended up with a GS F after not being able to make a deal on an E43. Yes, it lacks the tech, but that V8 makes up for everything.

What tech do you feel is lacking in the GS F compared to the E43 ?

Is it the self driving features ?

Yeah, mainly the autopilot feature of Distronic+ as I spend a lot of time in traffic.
But also little things like no air suspension, massaging seats, heated mirrors, ambient lighting, power trunk, panoramic roof, Apple car play/Android Auto and the fact that Lexus Enform sucks compared to COMAND.
But I'm still happy with my GSF, no doubt.

Only busting chops! Don't disagree with the value proposition issue. I had an e43 on order, fully loaded and they weren't willing to give me anything off msrp, told them to keep it. Ended up with the Audi s8 plus, more money but much more car. Enjoy. Regards. Ned.
