Where are all the e43 owners?
But you, and YasS , and I are the perfect example of why you don't see more of them....
And I'm sure it has happened to many others.....
Dealers not willing to deal.....
And in my case, one dealer not even letting me drive one....
They wanted me to commit to a price first.....
How should I know what I'm willing to pay for a car with no test drive ?
They think cuz they throw the AMG badge on it, that it is the end all in carland.......
I didn't even care about the "AMG".....
I just wanted the 6 cylinder as opposed to the 4 banger TT......
In the end.... good for me..... I ended up with 8.....and am very happy with it.....
And the very same E43 I wanted to test drive, is still in their showroom.... over 7 weeks later....
Anyway.... A8 is very nice..... a friend of mine has one.... enjoy it.....

Wait 3 years when leases are coming out and get one at 40% discount.
The Best of Mercedes & AMG
I'm somewhere in-between. I chose not to buy 63 or the new 63s because it was too sporty for me for everyday commute use. The E300 is too soft on the other end and E43 had just the right amount of power. The interior in MB and the tech is a year ahead of Audi at this time. In about a year or two Audi might refresh their tech but I didn't want to wait and play the catchup game :-)
IMO atleast for now, E43 has the best balance of power, tech and interior comfort/luxury and is a great value for people with similar priorities.

Yes, impossible in FL, but according to that poster...well you can read for yourself.

On one german site, I counted 6 with mileages ranging from 1500-6000KM all less than 6 months old cheaper than a 9 month old E400 with very basic specs and 22,000km on the clock

MB is selling much more E43 in Europe than US, plus many of those cars are demo E43 for which the dealer get's a good incentive so they can discount. UK have to get their price down to sell them in left drive countries.
Right now the residual value for 3 years is 61% for E43 and that is pretty dam good considering it is the same as E300W4.
This is the best comparing with the GLC43-GLC300 and C43/C300

also check the official UK approved used site, filters: E-class, saloon, petrol, from 01/2017-04/2017. The equivalent E43 is on average selling for just over half the price of the new E63.
As a general rule, I doubt they will sell more E43s in Europe than in the states. Big engine Petrol cars just dont sell in Europe unless it's something special ala Porsche, bentley E63...probably explains the discoounting.

Used E 43??? That sounds pretty ridiculous given the car has been on sale for less than a year anywhere.

But i very much doubt many will get sold in the UK, estate or otherwise. It's rare as hell to see an e63, it's also rare as hell to see rs6 or s8 Audi's. More common to see s4 and s6 Audi's and reasonably common to see BMW 535s which i guess e43 will compete with here. But none are what I'd call common. And Mercedes is known more for their comfort then for their sporting prowess so i think the e43 sits in a weird spot of not being wow fast, not enough certainly to shrug off views of merc being better suited for grandpa, but not cheap enough to be a volume seller (we have crippling fuel and tax costs on thirsty cars here and in most of Europe so this sort of car has to be damn good to warrant the big step up in ownership costs from a more sensible ride).
