Back on the subject of watches: A $30K CLA250 does virtually nothing even remotely as well as a $125K S550. However, my $125.00 Seiko does virtually everything as good or better than a $50K Rolex. And, I don't have to worry about being mugged for it, who cares if I scratch it or even if I lose it. Expensive watches are ridiculous, at least to me.

Seiko notwithstanding, the other brands (Rolex, Piaget or Mille) are all considered luxury brands. They aren't defined by price or number sold alone. They have a "value" (real or perceived) beyond that. Mercedes has achieved the same status.
P.S. I have a Seiko also, almost never wear it.
