Bootlid opens by itself?
I am writing for a good friend who has a very strange problem with his Merc. On his brand new MY 2017 E220 Sedan, the bootlid opens by itself.
The key is NOT activated in any way, but from time to time and totally at random, the bootlid opens by itself. MB can't find the fault - does anyone in here know about it and how to cure the issue?
Best regards

I had neighbours on multiple occasions knock on my door to tell me my boot was open! Then when parked in my office driveway, the same thing except it opened into the wall, damaging the paint. It didn’t take long for me to correlate bending/crouching and the boot opening.
As I crouched, my trousers would tighten, pressing against the button long enough to trigger the boot to open. This was particularly bad with jeans. With the sloping design of the key, it puts the boot button at the arc allowing this to happen.
I would further confirm it is a design flaw by the fact Mercedes has already changed the key design. As many of you will know, merc had basically the same key design for years. They changed it to this one and have already changed it again. Pic attached of the keys mentioned.

Networked modules increasingly disfunction to the point where battery drains and more and more features are impacted with various nagging messages... all the way to "limp mode" at 70mph when ECU/TCU are forced to stumble.
The key feature here is how chaos is able to gently increase.

-- The fix is to eliminate the poor connections that impact network timings.
-- The workaround is to REBOOT chassis every week or two or when functions appear to be slow or delayed... banging gear shifts.
Battery float tender is good practice until basic CAN-B modules are under improved condition (4x Doors, KeylessG, aircon, R-SAM,...).
