Headliner Questions
I just ordered a 2018 E400 with a black leather interior and I had not given much thought to the headliner and ordered the black headliner on the salesman's advice. Now I am wondering if I should have just gone for the standard grey headliner as it may be too dark given everything is black and I have the dark ash trim. Any advice? Anyone have a picture of the car with a black headliner?

With a pano roof it really doesn't matter. Light comes through the screen and it doesn't feel dark. At night both are dark and makes no difference.
If the interior is black the black headliner looks better. Of course, this is all subjective.

I have the black headliner with nut brown / black interior and the natural grain ash wood trim. Even with standard (non pano) sunroof, it's not too dark. Feels luxurious, but not like sitting in a cave.

I have black exterior, black interior, and black ash wood trim. I have the pano roof and its definitely not too dark, even with the roof shade closed.

My 2015 S550 sedan has the black, Exclusive Nappa interior, which comes with a black headliner. The Pano Roof shade on the S is a heavy, solid unit that allows no light through. Absolutely no worries for it being "too dark." It's just fine.
