2018 E-Class Released in July?
I'm in the market for a E400 Wagon with P3 and there are not a lot of 2017s around now with the color combos I like. A few days ago, a dealer on the East coast sent me a build sheet for a 2018 that he said is on it's way.
I was skeptical as new model years can be held at the VPC for months until MB HQ decides to release them to the dealers. So I quizzed him further about this, asking him to please research further as a local dealer who has pre-sold several 2018s said they won’t get there till mid-November. and this was his reply:
Would love to have some sort of confirmation from anyone as I spoke again to the same dealer who said mid-November and he said he called his MBUSA rep who denied knowing of any earlier release.
For me if 18s are not till November, I'll get a 17 now.

I just went and presented your question to the General Manager to verify.
He stated that, yes, that was the common consensus. As of a conference call with the area rep this morning, the GM has confirmed that 2018 E Class' were discussed and will be released in July (Coupes, Cabs and Wagons, even the E63s'!) and the S Class will be in August. That is the latest word as of this morning.
Obviously, MBUSA can change their minds at any time but that is the instructions we were given straight from our MBUSA rep this morning!

Just got off the phone with a Portland Oregon dealer who said E63's and Coupes, yes, but he had not heard of the other E's being released. He was going to do some additional checking, and if more info, I'll post it when I get it.

I would recommend waiting for an 18 actually. I was also scouting the 2017 inventory but a P3 wagon with dual screens is almost impossible to find - they built virtually zero with that config. Air suspension is also almost nonexistent on P3's.
2018 gets the night package, standard dual screens on P3 I believe and three zone climate control. Very much worth the wait imho - mine will be first off the boat

East Coast dealer just left me a voice mail that an email went out that 2018 E coupes are released today. Should be good news for @beobenz

I wouldn't count on that...I just spoke to my MB GM contact today and he said that the '18s haven't been released by MB yet. So even if your car is here (mine is arriving shortly) it will be held at the port.

Sorry, wish I was wrong because mine is going to be held up too. Did they give you any indication of when they will be released?

I ordered a MY18 E300 with P3 this morning. Sales guy said some were due in later this month, but no MY18 E300s yet. I don't expect to get mine until October or later.
