Text Messages phone not supported
Any thoughts on what the problem could be?
Thanks!
I thought pf the car play option but don't want to have to connect to a cable every time I get in the car. I guess I am lazy. LOL

Used it again today when she was not in the car and everything worked perfectly both directions.

Because it seems the iphone won't allow any external control of the phone (other than carplay)
I can only suggest one thing. When you pair a phone it seems to take about 15 to 30 seconds to get the message on the phone about wanting to gain access to receiving and sending (or something like that). Maybe you left your bluetooth screen too soon?

it's on on my phone, but can not dictate any messages.
(only read on screen and have them read to me)
can also not call the person who sent text directly from that text (had same problem in my w212)
After finding out it works in my E400, I tried it in my 2017 C300 Cabriolet. It worked there the first time I tried it. Had not realized until now that the C300 had the feature.

I connected by letting car find phone...
then connected by letting the phone find car...
switched on notifications...
even switched mobile data off and on as suggested in the online manual
Nada!

you are activating siri on the phone to dictate, while I was talking about dictating through the command system
but thanks for the tip; cos was not aware that I could activate siri in this way.
To answer and confirm some questions you cannot send text messages through the comand. You can hold the voice button on the steering wheel and this activates siri on the iphone. Or you can use apple car play to read and send and reply to text messages.
But you can get notifications in your comand screen that a new text message has been received and the comand can display the message and the sender and read it outloud. In the iPhone under MB Bluetooth notifications need to be turned on.
