Any GLE 43 owners or testers??

I'm considering getting one of these for my wife to complement my E43. Any thoughts? I tested the GLS550 and was superbly impressed with how powerful and how well it drove but my wife thinks its too big for her (it is huge indeed). I was most impressed about how the air suspension could offer both and incredibly smooth and incredible agile (for its XXL size) ride. It was significantly more agile than our MDX which is only 3/4 of the size. The 4.7L turbo V8 is incredible and sounds amazing. Furthermore the brakes were also great. Not a bad deal at slightly more than 100k almost fully equipped (sans 4500 radio).

.
I ordered the first variant (GLE450) a couple of years ago. It had the standard 21" rims.
Before signing on the dotted line to take possession, I had the salesman to demo it to my 5'6" wife. She couldn't even get into the thing without a small step ladder. I did not complete the purchase and received a full refund.

My advice is to have your wife experience a GLE for a full day of normal activities. Then decide.

I've sat inside the GLE and GLS and they both feel so outdated...they are overdue for a complete update.

The interior looks dated because it is, however, it does contain all the new tech except for the new key. The safety/self driving features are the same vintage as the w205. I would love it if they had the new E interior design but I don't think that's in the cards for a few years yet. The materials, fit and finish are first rate though. Furthermore, the powertrain is also the latest and greatest. I can live with a less than glamorous look as long as all the parts that make it go are up to snuff. Consider it like getting a trophy wife who's 35 instead of 25. The 35 will be a little less attractive on the outside but more polished and experienced overall.

I think this is the last year for this generation GLE. Next year you will get the new body style and new electronics with wide screen?

The Audi Q7 is probably worth a look. They are supposed to be great. It's brand new from ground up. Regards. Ned.

Its nice indeed but it only comes with 333hp and cant tow much. The GLE43 can tow 7200lbs. Plus Im so happy with my E43 I want to stay in the "family".

A friend of mine reminded me that an Audi is nothing more than a VW with an extra coat of clear.

I ordered a GLE Coupe site unseen. There were no demonstrators. When it arrived I had to decline acceptance because it sat so high off the ground that my 5'6" wife couldn't mount the vehicle without a step stool. The GLE Coupe is not a small vehicle.
