Active Lane Keeping Assist too aggressive.

Active Lane Keeping Assist can be quite aggressive with the brakes when getting close to driving lane division lines.

Is there a way to make it less sensitive, or have it just making its sound without braking?

Does turning off the lane keep assist with the button to the left of the steering wheel do the trick?

I keep mine turned off because I felt it was actually dangerous. Way too often it would suddenly and unexpectedly brake hard and swerve if it decided I was too close to the edge of the lane even when I felt such action was completely unwarranted. To my knowledge there is no sensitivity adjustment.

What's the difference between Adaptive and Standard settings?

It would be nice to be able to keep the sound without the hard braking.

I dont get the sound when the LKA kicks in. All it does is brake. I dont think it even vibrates the steering wheel.

Vibration Sound.

It’s a vibration sound. This would be enough without actual braking.

Without a turn signal I get the vibration, but not the braking. With a turn signal nothing happens.

Edit - 99% of the time I do not get a green LKA signal because of the lack of right edge lane markings.

dealer told me adaptive will learn your driving style and activate less frequently in situations where you are aggressively taking sharp turns across Lane markings and so forth. I have not noticed that to be the case in my vehicle. It is way to sensitive.

The differences between Standard and Adaptive mode are explained in your owner's manual, page 199 or thereabout.

It's page 202 in the US Owner's Manual:

" Selecting Standard or Adaptive setting in the DriveAssist menu on the on-board computer, select the Active Lane Keep‐ ing Assist function (Y page 221). X Select setting Standard or Adaptive.

When Standard is selected, no warning vibration occurs if you switch on the turn signals. In this event, the warnings are suppressed for a certain period of time. A driving safety system intervenes, such as ABS, BAS or ESP®.

When Adaptive is selected, no warning vibration occurs if: You switch on the turn signals. In this event, the warnings are suppressed for a certain period of time. A driving safety system intervenes, e.g. ABS, BAS or ESP®. You accelerate hard, e.g. kickdown. You brake hard. You steer actively, e.g. swerve to avoid an obstacle or change lanes quickly. You cut the corner on a sharp bend. "

The underlined part is the difference between "Standard" and "Adaptive".
