Did you try it? Does it work? Have you been able to get into the engineering menu? I've read that this way you can use mirrorlink... but I don't know if you can access this in US models...
My understanding is that it's similar to android auto and Apple carplay but more powerful. I believe it enables you to mirror your phone's screen, which enables far more apps.
on a French board somebody claims that mirror link will be available after a software update that just came out
anyone know if true?
Also seems on new models mirror link is standard ?
Hmmm supposed to be standard on my car 2018 S213 but dealer even with help from the factory can't get it working. My car was in for nearly three days having software patch etc

Having reviewed your most recent email., I can confirm that after investigating your enquiry with the relevant department I have been advised that Mirrorlink is not software that we currently support, therefore I am unable to advise any further in regards to what software version would be applicable.
I have told the dealer that the specification in the brochure and on the specification on the car states "Smartphone Integration Mirrorlink" so they need to sort it out
Your dealer can enable the engineering mode menu using the Xentry hardware/software diagnostic system.
That said why pay $149 for something your dealer may do at little or no cost?
Once engineering mode is enabled a user can access the settings that vendors are charging $$$ for each and every setting change via an OBD2 dongle.

I'll give it a shot and ask. I've been told dealers will not enable that unless you're a close friend or something with someone. So in your experience the dealers have no problem enabling engineering mode?
I have not encountered any issues as long as the car is in for other services. YMMV After all there is a cost to the dealer for labor and use of the diagnostic system.

I've got to take mine in to fix some more rattles soon so I'll give it a shot.

So just so I understand. You have activated Mirrorlink on your vehicle? The dealer did it? And you weren't charged anything?
i tried this but don't buy it, it works only with android, and you have to instal RockScout and connect your phone via usb , and Video playback while driving is disabled

I don't recall the specifics since I only tried it for an hour or so. Like Android Auto it only used a small portion of the display, a big negative. The phone feature I use most, sending/receiving SMS messages, is handled quite well by COMMAND.
I was able to get the last mirror link phone interconnection via OBD activation the web site had.
its working well so far.

I have the mirrorlink preinstalled but I could never get it to work it just said can't open, and I have the last galaxy s9+
is it because of the phone or do you have to have some other app in phone to start mirror link..
