Change temperature unit from F to C in W213

Hi All, I have been trying to change the temperature unit from Fahrenheit to Celsius on my 2018 AMG E43 for a while now with no luck. I have taken it to Mercedes-Benz of Farmington and they couldn't do it. The reason why I want to change it is because I am not from the US and really not used to the Fahrenheit unit. I'm guessing that I might be able to change the units though the Engineering Menu (Which is disabled for some reason).
What I have tried so far:

- Going through the settings of the car.
- Took it to the nearest dealership
- Gone through the Dealer Menu
- Called Mercedes Mbrace Concierge
- Looked through the manual

I would highly appreciate it if you guys could give me any suggestions.

Well it sounds like you tried everything so far. The only recommendations I have is this:

Bring the car to a different dealership and see if they can change it for you.
Try calling the product concierge people (it should be in the Mercedes Me app) and see if he/she can help.
I honestly do not know if this is doable. I know it has the option to use KPH instead of MPH but I'm not sure about F to C.

For Fahrenheit, I usually keep mine between 68-72 degrees. That is around the middle and it blows cold when it is hot outside. When it is cold outside, I put mine between 76-MAX so that way it will blow hot air and turn on the window defroster. Maybe this might help a little in the meantime while trying to get the temperature from Fahrenheit to Celsius.

Thanks for your reply Makris, May I ask if you have managed to access the Engineering Menu in your E class? I have followed this video but seems that mine is disabled.

Wow I need to try this!!! I did not know this is possibly accessible.

I have been trying to get my dealership to find a way to make the volume louder for the blind spot assist, parking sensors, pre-safe, etc. and the dealership cannot seem to do it or figure it out.

Also they could have disabled it for 2018 E classes because the video said it was for a 2017 E.

I think what you're trying to have is doable but please tell if yours allowed access to that menu. If it didn't work in your car, I'm guessing that it's disabled in the US models

the engineering menu needs to be activated 1st , before you can access it yourself.

parkin sensor beeps can not be made louder. I asked the same thing to my dealer.
(I agree; the volume is ridiculously low, especially in the rear)

Do you know how or where can I activate it?

I've just called the dealer and they actually told me that only AMG can activate it and that they only can do it by having something to do that requires them to call the guys from AMG and activate it. Then he recommended me to do a stage 2 tune for some reason. I'll look for different places that can do it and if I activated it, I'll post here for sure

I was not able to activate engineering mode, but I was able to activate dealer mode. I could not find anything about changing the temp from F to C. If you need a guideline for where the temp is at, click on the menu button on the center dash (the middle button between the AC controls) and when it shows up, adjust the AC. When you adjust it the color will change when you hit a certain temp. When it hits 76F and up it will turn red and when it hits 69F and lower it will turn blue. Everything in-between will be white.

Could you finally get this done? I am trying to do it as well and so far, no luck... I am also trying to change the fuel consumptoin from mpg to l/100km which is what I am used to because I am from Spain, but no luck either... does anyone know to do this?

Thanks!

If the units setting is changed from miles to kilometers, the rest should follow. Units is under the system menu. AFAIK it is all or none - metric or imperial.

Hmm interesting theory, I will try it tonight.
But, even if that's the case it doesn't make sense to be like that, I should be able to select miles AND Celsius... I drive in US so I need to measure distance, speed limits etc. in miles, but I still want my temperature in Celsius because that's what the whole world uses.

I drive my 213 in the UK, and that is indeed exactly what I have: miles and Celsius. I can choose km if I want, but as far as I know I have no option to swap to Fahrenheit. Sounds like you might be in the reverse situation, so maybe temperature units are somehow “baked in” even though distance units can be changed :-(

Tried that, doesn't work - changed to km/h and the temperature still showed in F.
I guess it is as SCRL suggested and the temperature units are predefined per country and cannot be changed.
Which is SO stupid, you can change this on even the cheapest cars and the dumbest infotainment systems...
