Not for the E450 if that's what you're thinking. The E450 is coming with Bi-Turbo V6 retuned for 367 horses. It is NOT the I6 for 2019.

Yes there is something I can "point to": The DOG: specifically says the E450 will be a V6 biturbo engine not the I6 engine.

The 450 Engine is an inline 6 and it is also the same (new generation) engine that will feature as the CLS 450 and in the S450. It's not like there is going to be 2 different types of 450 engines.

Not unless someone can point me to the MBUSA site with the E450?

I can pm you the DOG for the 2019s if you’d like.

Or you can find it in this thread.

So an update:

After ordering the E450, then taking the E400 I thought I was going to be happy. While I'm not unhappy with the E400, I know I should have waited for the E450. The E450 was exactly what I wanted, with the exact options I wanted, including the digital instrument cluster. My dealer never cancelled the order, and it was built this past week and I've decided to get it when it arrives, hopefully, in late October. We'll trade the E300 in and my partner will take the E400, which is a better car for him. I thought I'd be taking a HUGE HUGE HUGE hit, but my dealer is just so good to me and we worked out the numbers today and yes, it's certainly going to cost more, but not as much as I thought it might hurt.

If anyone is interested in a great deal on a 2018 White E300, with Black (MBTex), Natural Black Ash dash and center console,Comand, Intelligent Lighting, AMG Styling, Parking Assist, Blind Spot Assist and 19" AMG Wheels (it's actually P2 package w/o digital instrument cluster), please let me know. My dealer said if I can find a buyer, they will handle the sale for the price we agree on and give me 100% of the sale. The car has about 600 miles on it. If I sell it before the E450 arrives, my dealer will loan us a car to drive.

What was the MSRP on the 2018 E300.

What do you want for your 2018 E300? (I assume this amount will be what the dealer will allow you on trade trade for your 2019 E450)

When my dealer called to tell me the status went from "In Production" to Built, they commented that they've been getting them pretty quick from Germany to the VPC and they're moving quickly from the VPC to dealerships. When I was at my dealer this weekend, I was amazed at how many 2019 E Sedans, Coupes and Cabriolets they had on the lot. Just a couple weeks ago, they had none. They said they think I might see the car within 3 weeks. I'm cautiously optimistic. I'm still driving an E400, so it's not like I'm slumming in a Geo Metro, right?

Remind me, again, where you are? My car took 8 or 9 days (I don’t remember which) from the factory to Baltimore.

Tampa, FL. Our VPC is Jacksonville, FL. That's about a 4.5 hour drive from Tampa. And it should take a similar number of days cruising across the big pond as your car did. I'm sure once the car has it's VPC Spa Treatment, my dealer will get it trucked down as fast as they can. I'm not going to have to go through any of the misery you did, of that I'm pretty sure. There should be no reason to hold the car at the VPC at all, unless of course it suffered some minor damage during the cruise.

The Mercedes VPC is located in Brunswick, GA. Jacksonville contains the Southern Region Headquarters with sales, parts, quality and learning centers.

OK........Then maybe the car comes to Brunswick. It's not that far from Jacksonville, from what I can see.

Did the dealer tell you where it was coming in to?

At least you’ll have a digital instrument panel, even though you said you didn’t mind the half digital one.

No, the dealer didn't say specifically. It was me thinking the ship docks in Jacksonville, I must have been wrong in my guess.

On the digital instrument panel. I had wanted one and you know that. I couldn't get it on the E400 and I'm really not unhappy with the analog gauges. I still they look fine and they're perfectly functional. But, I'm going to much happier with the digital instruments of that I'm sure. My partner on the other hand doesn't even like the digital instrument cluster. Which is a win win for me. I can get what I originally wanted. He doesn't care if he has them and he get's the E400.

So I guess I'm a step closer to really getting the E450 when it comes. The partner suggests that if the E400 is going to be his, we should trade cars now and I'll be driving the E300 till the new car comes. LOL. I said, sure, why not.

Also, my dealer called to tell me I'm B7, which is NetStar speak for At Port/Ready To Be Shipped!

2019 Dune Silver Metallic E-450 Mercedes Cabriolet NEW Mercedes 2020 GLC300 graphite gray SUV
Well, I ordered my Dune metallic E450 Cabriolet convertible in Aug. and it just reached the B5 status of being completely built. I had to forgo the HUD in order to get it sometime in November. Other than that and the projector lamps, it's pretty much fully loaded. I'm located in Cleveland Ohio area.

It's important to get it here before the end of the year because of my trade-in status. VPC is Baltimore and I hope I can get it in 4-6 weeks time. My dealer has gotten an E450 black Cabriolet and several 2019's already in, so they are coming much faster now.

congrats! This is the hardest part... at least when you have a production date, it’s pretty firm unless unexpected things happen. Now the “when will it get here and how long will it stay at the VPC” are the burning questions.

FWIW, I have the HUD and it’s “ok”. To quote Dom Deluise as Caesar in Mel Brooks’ History of the World, part 1, “Nice. Not thrilling, but nice!” The only thing I find really useful with it is the flashing speed limit sign catches my eye when I (inadvertently) go over the limit. So in my opinion, you didn’t lose a huge feature on the car. In addition, it doesn’t work well with polarized sun glasses. It’s there but very dim.

Were you you able to get all the other toys you wanted?

Yes, I didn't get the projector lights (no biggie) cause they weren't available, but I got everything else I wanted. I was going to get the Magic Vision control, but decided against it after all the pros and cons I read on threads. I got the Premium Package, Parking assist Pkg., Driver assist pkg., Illuminated door sills, heated steering wheel, LED intelligent light system, Macchiato beige/expresso brown leather interior with the natural grain light brown elm wood trim, dune metallic with soft brown top...and probably a couple of other things I can't remember at the top of my head.

I did want the HUD, since I had it on my Cadillac ATS, only because I was used to it, but again, I couldn't get my car ordered until next year. I did get the 12.8 digital instrument cluster, so I figured that was a good trade off. I hear many owners are having problems getting their cars equipped with that option (the digital cluster) , so I feel lucky.

Really eager to get my beauty, after hearing all the positive responses on the car thus far. After living with your car now for a few weeks, what is your opinion of the 2019 model?

I test drove a car with HUD before I made my order and meh, I live in the land of perpetual sun and heat (Florida) and that means most of the time I'm behind the wheel of my car is during hours when sunglasses are pretty much required. It was sort of legible with my prescription sunglasses, but sort of legible for the price of admission wasn't worth it to me.

I follow this thread because a 2019 W213 was one of the cars I was considering to replace my MY16 GLC (instead opted for a MY C300 4Matic nearly completely loaded...the tech refresh and other changes edged it to my #`1 choice) ----oh, and weeks/months ago, I (like the rest of us) was eager for ANY news on ANY MY19 model releases---regardless of model.

ANYWAY,, though my new car is being assembled around this time and delivery expected by EOM this month or early November, I still follow this thread because you guys keep throwing these little nuggets of hillarity out there in this thread....I look forward to my morning laughs while still engaging in caffeine triage to start the day!
