Acoustic Comfort package
I don’t have the 2019 DOG for the wagon, but here is a page from the 2019 E Class Sedan DOG and it shows the same thing.

OK, sorry, didn’t mean to ruffle any feathers here.
We now know that is was not a Special Order item in 2019, but became a Special Order item in 2020. Glad we got that settled.

this means i'd only pay 600 euros on top of the tainted windows, which seems an ok deal to me.
i hate noises in the car, so if this really work, then will definitely get it next year on my new car!

EDIT: double checked and you are correct, tainted windows not included and the two can not be combined
@1guitar you don't hear/feel a difference between acoustic & non acoustic ?

The Best of Mercedes & AMG
That you have to pay an extra $$ to get a quieter interior is a bit disappointing to me.
Don't get me wrong, I love the car, but I just think that a quiet interior should be part-and-parcel of a luxury automobile.

And yes, insulating so that exhaust and engine is plainly audible while tire and windnoise are minimized is eminently do-able. My Audi RS7 manages that quite well.

I get that the 4-cylinder models would have sound pumped in to mask the 4-cylinder sound, and that the AMG models would have sound pumped in for a more 'sporty' ambience.
For the 6-cylinder non-AMG models, it would be telling if there are any 'engine' sound changes in sport and/or sport+ modes, since I do not believe they have exhaust valves.

As for the non amg branded 4 cylinder vehicles, the pump in audio makes sense for the reasons as you stated. If you watch the W206 C300 autobahn run videos, the sound is clearly pumped in. It is not just 4-cylinder amg branded and non amg branded cars that gets pumped in audio, in fact my C43 has some sort of pumped in audio even though it has a V6. Matter of fact, there were discussion on the presence of pumped in audio for the W205 C63s with the V8 (facelift only though).
Speaking of V6. As for Streamliner hearing some sound from the engine, I think it makes sense as that engine is basically straight from the C43 pre-facelift as the M276 DELA 30, that engine naturally has a nice exhaust tone. The exhaust note from what I remembered from my test drive is very similar to my C43 when at high RPMs but unlike the C43, it is relatively quiet at low RPMs just as you would expect for an E-Class, the E450's exhaust even popped slightly in a very luxurious way when in sport+ mode. Couldn't tell if it was indeed pumped in as it sounded super natural to me and I put the windows down during the test drive (it sounded just like it was from the exhaust unless I remembered it incorrectly and they specifically raised the volume of the pumped in audio when the windows are opened)
Alan you are correct, there are no valves on non amg branded vehicles. Even on amg branded vehicles, the valves are an option bundled in the driver's package.

Contrary to my assumption, however, it is a 6-cylinder non-AMG and does appear to have a valved exhaust (code U16 - Exhaust System with Acoustic Flap). So any exhaust sound changes in Sport/Sport+ are not necessarily artificial, at least with the V6.
Edit: I also decoded some 2019 CLS450 VINs (earliest non-AMG M256 I-6 engined cars I was able to decode), and they all had B63 (and none had PAF). However, they all had a sport exhaust code as well. Perhaps they are set up differently from the W213.
And I checked some E63 VINs. None had B63, with or without PAF.

It does appear the V6 has the capability of real variable exhaust sound. I can only assume it varies with driving mode. I do not know what the sport exhaust code in the I6 C257 consists of, or if it comes on non-AMG W213 I6 models…I was unable to decode any.
