White shadows on main display
Hello ! Did anyone had issues with the displays? I have some white shadows on the center one, highly visible when the sun hits it directly. Is that ok? The dealer told me everything is fine. Thanks in advance.

That is absolutely not OK. This is a known problem with some widescreens and I know from a German forum that in Germany a lot of screens with these white shadows were replaced under warranty.

Thanks for your reply, Haag. I will have to go to Austria or Germany, as in Romania they said that the display works good and they won’t change it.

How old is your car, is it still under warranty?
I don't know if you understand the German language, but here are two links to topics on the German forum with lot's of people with this kind of problem:

They sometimes had to be persistant but I think almost everone had their screens replaced.

That's strange, MB knows about this problem. Your dealer should claim this issue with the importer and/or MB Germany.

Hello everyone
today I by chance at dusk at the bright spots on the widescreen display open the door discovered.
I have attached three pictures that well describe the problem. The camera is properly brightens the whole, but the spots are definitely there and now they fall naturally even more eye-popping.
To date this is not so noticed, since the loaded display the whole rather noticeable.
What are your experiences with this?
Clear a warranty claim?

Thank you and have a nice evening

Even though this thread is about 2 years old, hopefully this helps others since here in the US nothing is mentioned about this. So I had this same issue here in my W213 2018 US Model. White shadows at the edges is not normal and its a defect in contrary to what the dealership will quickly throw at you. After reading this thread and doing some internet searches, I found out that this is a defect called "Back Light Bleeding" as mentioned above that can't be fixed without replacing the entire display. Luckily I'm still under warranty and I just got it replaced by the dealership under the warranty saving approximately $4K-$5K after presenting pictures similar to what was done here and the difference with the new screen is HUGE !!. So if you have this problem, marc the white shadows on your pictures, print them and give it to your SA instructing him and educate him that its called Backlight Bleeding defect and request its full replacement. He is not going to pay for it from his pocket and this will help him get your claim approved by corporate.

Hi guys, I have this same problem with my E63s from 2017.
Mercedes have refused to help with this problem.
Does anyone have some papers/courtdocuments where its stated that it is a factory fault or that you have got it replaced?
Would really help me!
Thanks in advance

If you are out of warranty you are out of luck and there is nothing you can do other than ask your dealership for a goodwill due to this being a know issue. This is not a safety issue for a court case. If you are still under warranty, take pictures of the edges where you have the white borders; and request replacement due to the commonly known issue of backlight bleeding on this earlier version of the 12.3" screen. Your dealer needs your documentations to support your case. Good Luck!!

Here are pictures that I'm sure lots of us have this backlight bleeding but don't pay attention till after the warranty expire which is too late. Replacement was done about a year ago and the replacement screen still perfect. Hopefully they caught the root cause of the issue with the replacement unit.
