Hello @optimus , and sorry for the late reply. It is indeed a bummer than paying extra for a higher quality sound system results in this blocking point for something as basic and fundamental to the car day-to-day usage as the infotainment system
I've stopped trying to get it updated and have taught myself how to live with it.. There are plenty of battles to fight with my car anyway... being an E43, the suspension is quite harsh and I have a plethora of ratlles. Not all is bad of course, but too many things are disappointing from Mercedes lately.

I would advise downsizing tires or getting rid of run-flats or do both, also adjust tire pressures accordingly (only adjust when they are cold for the most accurate reading, it might take a few days before you find the perfect tire pressure for your driving needs, such as balance between good comfort and handling)
i just came from dealership, updated from version 1.7xxx.
Latest version is still 6.8xx
interesting thing is, that some of us have different versions of DOM and other stuff.
After update, I had some bug with ambient light not comming on after startup, but I managed to solve it by switching it on/off/multizone multiple times.
So there are definitelly some bugs. I am almost 100% sure, that there was absolutelly no change done to Android auto. Also, android auto has sometimes bug that after first connection upon starting the car, sound is desynced and delayed (video is fine). This can be solved by unplugging and replugging it again. After that, works fast without problems.
Hi @BenzNinja - is this something you can help with? I really would like to be able to use my steering wheel controls to navigate thru the carplay screen (and being able to use the speedometer in Waze/Maps hehe).

I tried MBUSA with no avail - they say that they don't do anything related to the head unit (sounds BS to me). And as of today, I emailed some random emails I found online for MB Germany (customer.care@daimler.com, dialog@daimler.com, dialog.mb@daimler.com) to explain the issue. Don't have any hope that this will get resolved but doesn't hurt to keep trying.
For the record @pintycar , I do have Burmester (810) but not 3D like you do (811).
Does updating to a newer version fix Android Auto issue - Android Auto is not fullscreen on my 2018 E300 but Carplay is fullscreen. Also touchpad controls don't work with Android Auto but they work with Carplay. Can someone please help me with this information?

It doesn't fix the full screen android auto issue but it does address some bugs in certain versions and that include android auto, but you won't get full screen as that is an android issue specifically in COMAND and MBUX 1.0, it is full screen in MBUX 2.0 which the W213 will never get.

Do steering wheel and center console touchpad functions work with Android Auto for you without the adapter?
Can someone help a mate out here and let me know if you are able to use right side steering touch controls or center console track pad to move around within Android Auto? Also if you can mention your software version that would be great.
My local dealership's service dept doesn't know what COMAND is. They quoted me $295 to update the navigation system. I'm not sure that this is the same thing as the COMAND sw version though so I guess I'll just wait until i have an actual need to update.

They seriously don't know? Wow especially that they work for MB.. COMAND is MB's system or Cockpit Management and Data system. Which was replaced by MBUX or Mercedes-Benz User Experience or soon MB OS.
