It sure is a weird feeling when brake assist kicks in like when you back up and the car senses movement behind you, it really abruptly stops which I guess is a good thing but really feels like you just hit someone or something, scared the heck out of me a few times thats for sure.
The 2020 E53 Coupe dealer order guide lists “Emotion Start” as a new feature. Holding the left shift paddle while starting the car gives a “sporty start.” After updating my COMAND to version 4.80, I tried the “Emotion Start” and it worked on my 2019 E53. The start is a little louder with a few burbles. It’s not obnoxious, just a little sportier. I never tried it before the update so, I really don’t know if it was added with the update or if it was always there but not publicized.

I feel the urge to go start my car up to see if I have that feature (not holding my breath)...
Since my COMAND system was updated to version 4.80, the Easy Exit/Entry feature appears to be working as described in the owners manual. The seat now slides back, the steering wheel raises and the seat back moves up a bit to make it easier to get in and out of the car. Before the update only the steering wheel moved. I had actually brought the car to the dealer months ago because the Easy Entry/Exit feature wasn’t working correctly. They confirmed it wasn’t working as described in the owners manual, but there wasn’t anything they could do. Since I hadn’t tested the feature immediately before the COMAND update, I’m really not positive that the update made the difference, but it appears to have.
What is the latest Command update for 2017 E400 wagon? I have had the car for 3 months and lots of weird annoying things that hopefully with be corrected. Going to bring car in for a recall notice and thought I’d ask for Command update. Also anyone know how to get the online manual to appear in English? Thanks!
I just noticed another new feature since upgrading to COMAND version 4.80. I have an iPhone X and could always read an incoming text through COMAND, but I couldn’t compose and send a text. Since the COMAND update I can now dictate and send a text from COMAND. It’s a little clumsy and awkward, but it works. It’s still much easier to use Siri. My COMAND update and Apple’s IOS 13 update came at about the same time so I’m not sure which allowed the text from COMAND feature.
My version is 00.61.00.20. I have a 2017 E300, but this version seems very old. I won't be able to update my Nav Maps for free, as September was my 3 year anniversary.

Should try and get it in quick they will probably do a courtesy upgrade if you ask them.
I have comand version 02.71 , dealer say you don't need any updates. Please advice should dealer do such update free of charge (car is under warranty) and how to force a dealer to do it ? is 02.71 very old version ?
Does anyone have a COMAND version newer than 4.80.00.20? I’ve had that version since September 16th. I have a service appointment next week and if there is something newer, I’ll ask for it.
For the first time, I received an email for Mercedes notifying me that the updates were available. It arrived a couple of days after I did the update, but I’m glad to see MB keeping customers in the loop.

Dear Mr xxxxxxxxxx
Part of our offer for you is the "Online Map Update" service.
A new version for your navigation maps is available at the Mercedes me Portal.
You can download the maps from the portal to bring your navigation system right up to date.
If you receive automatic map updates for a certain region, this will continue to work in the customary manner.
I have exact "old" picture version as you (2017 CPO E300) and going in for update next week.. Did they way why the "DOM" update level doesn't seem as recent as the others? How is the system behaving? Snappier?
How did the update go? I'd like to update the COMAND on my 2017 but not sure how to approach the dealer.
I'd like them to do the Navigation map update as well. I'm running map version 2017 (V4.0)
Ya I heard the updates were coming out in March. Hopefully mine will update over the air soon in my e450. My 2017 s550 I’ll have to take to the dealer to get it done.

I noticed a message last weekend saying that my maps had been updated. This on my 2020 E450 Wagon.
Does anyone have a COMAND version newer than 4.80.00.20. I assume the 2020 cars will have a more recent COMAND firmware version. I’ll ask for an update once I can determine what is current.

I have a 2020. How can I access the screen with the versions shown above. I tried finding it, and only found that my map is set for Automatic Updates, and that it's 81% complete with an update.

There are some explanations on the first page of this thread. Basically, go to the home screen and highlight Vehicle Settings. Press and hold the rotary knob until the menu appears, then find the software version from there. I think it’s on the second page. Just be careful not to change anything.
Here's the versions screen of my 2020 E450 Wagon, manufactured in September, 2019, delivered to dealer about December 30, 2019. Versions seem same as last picture above, except an updated DOM:
