Dealer Tech Help
Have a question on buying a car out state. I have found a great CPO in the state next to me, about 80 miles away. Haven't found the same thing in my state. It even has the digital display.
So so with all the tech, I understand the dealers have someone that can help you. My question is, since I'm not going to drive 160 miles round trip for help, will my local dealer assist me?

There’s tons of Mercedes videos online to explain things. Just google search. Lots on YouTube too. Myself I’d feel funny asking a non selling dealer for tech support. They could say no we didn’t sell you that car. Can’t blame them. They’ve gotta pay their tech support guys.

I kinda figured that. I haven't found a car equipped like this anywhere near me. I will get it survived by the local dealer and buy the maintenance package from them.

I am in the same situation: bought from one dealer and service at my local dealer. The service department of my local dealer has treated me wonderfully - even has given me a loaner, so I would not worry too much. If you go with the out of state dealer, be prepared to spend a few hours going over the car. Then as merc amg points out there are numerous videos on youtube plus videos on the ME App. and the owner's manual!
If it is a CPO vehicle do not understand what you mean by "get it surveyed by my local dealer".
As to the maintenance agreement: remember this like everything else is a negotiable price: You can it discounted off of MSRP.
Remember service and sales are two distinct profit centers!

My dealer has removed the tech help guy. He is now in customer retention. He tells me that the sales guys were upset that their customers were going to him. Not sure if this has happened at all MB dealerships or not.

Certainly not at my dealer. My dealer has a large Concierge staff, who take you through all the tech in your new car after you've signed the dealer paperwork. This is really smart. It let's the sales team do what they should be doing, which is uh, sell cars and they don't have to get bogged down with the minutia of operating details for a new car delivery. The concierge who did our deliveries was really terrific. She took lots of time helping get everything set up. She even went to the trouble of figuring what preset stations I had in my trade in and while I signing the paperwork, she entered all the preset stations in the new car before I even got the keys.

If you want an extra two years of CPO coverage, make sure you check out the vendors mentioned in the extended warranty subforum, usually it's a lot cheaper than dealer that sold you the car as they use it as an opportunity to make some extra cash on the sale.
